Well, Today I took possesion of the keys to my new abode and over the next few weeks I will be moving house!!,The new place is fairly close in distance to my present abode but is much nicer, with better amenities and facilities (working shower, central heating that works, cellar(I look forward to meeting many friends there) for wine!! and is light and airy too (present abode is a bit dark and grim) and is cheaper!!! more news as we progress!!

Not one of our better foliage seasons, at least around here, Micca -- but you were here for what turned out to be peak foliage.

The last colorful holdouts were two trees on Rte. 4 just before the highway crossed the first part of Great Bay. There was a bright red maple, one of the kind whose leaves are always a shade of red, but in the fall turn a brighter red; and another maple that was bright yellow with bright red on the outer parts of the leaves. The two together were striking. Alas, they looked fine this past Thursday, not sure if I noticed on Friday (it was dark when I went past the second time), and by Saturday what leaves were still on were brown and the bi-colored tree was nearly bare.

Ah, yes, when prim and proper, mostly white-paint and bricks New England, gets into the facepaints and goes full out with the rouge and lipstick! I LOVE it and miss it, though we do have beautiful golds out here. I still have a photo album full of leaves which I dried and put in it for my mom the first year we lived there in 1983. We were so impressed by the colours AND size of the leaves.

Lovely photos, MIcca. The gals and inmates are pretty good lookin', too!

Tired and saddened by the loss of a friend (I think I could call Barry a friend) the sadness in the watches of the night on the flight was almost overwhelming, it must be tiredness, I was remembering the insane car journey at 80mph up I95 with Barry driving Marys van (Mary and Tami in the back ,eyes tight shut. knuckles white) while Barry was telling me stories taking his hands off the wheel to gesture and his eye off to road to see my reactions. He was in great voice at the Getaway. I spent Friday a week ago with him at the Press Room and his last words as we left were, "See you Next week" I will(and already am) really miss that guy

Just put Micca on a bus to Boston. From there he flies to London and should arrive about 5 AM in time for work.
Look after him, Liz and Mortie. We have had some sad times over here and he feels it.

Both Micca and I called all day trying to find Jason or Tami but no answer. By 7:45 we were both hungry and went off to Amato's for pasta and wine. Found a PM from Tami this morning but it must have come in while we were off at Amato's.
I said Rira's but Micca wasn't sure.
But we had a pleasant evening - nice to have the old guy back.

Micca, I have bad manners, and I hope you forgive me. Thank you for dinner last night. The best wine, the best fillet Mignon (with blue cheese & bacon crust (it came more rare than I expected or wanted, but it was perfect), and lovely company. I still felt full when I woke up this morning!

P.S. We need to work out photo-swapping. How long before Homeland Security can relax again?

Replete with good food ,wine and splendid company, I have returned to Nottingham, from the annual NH-Uk Friendship meeting at Acorns UNH, the Menu was pear salad, Filet Mignon and Creme Brulee the wines were a positive LAKE of dry sack sherry, a Californian Cb.Sauv and Grand Marnier and coffee. The company was 'Mudge and Linn and Jeri and the whole thing was "chust sublime" to quote Para Handy, for some reason I feel a bit tired and emotional and am going to lie down

Here I am , Basking in good food and wine and a truly remarkable single malt Bunnabhain Darach=ur!!!! soft mellow and smooooooooth, and that was just me after drinking it,,, very nice!! Morty (where-ever you are) the Port was fairly special too,Actually Idris might like the Malt also it was not unlike good Ledaig!!

Lovely wine tasting at Flag Hill...then off to Calef's for cheese. Great dinner tonight (Micca, Jeri, Tom and I -- Tom doing the cooking, of course) -- Tom made saltembaca and then we worked through cheese, wine, port, single malt.

I REALLY have to go to bed. I have to work tomorrow (had to work today) before we have a last dinner at Acorns tomorrow evening.

We are the walking wounded this weekend too -- had a dinner party scheduled for yesterday and Tom woke up saying we would have to cancel. Why, I said - I'm fine. Yes, he said, but I'm not. Oh don't be silly I said -- you'll be fine. He got up and took his temperature - a rousing 103....! We canceled!..If you all go down to the Press Room on Saturday -- let me know. I'll drive Esmerelda if someone will drive back.........haven't been down there in a long time and I should at least see Micca once if we can't offer him dinner hospitality.......

We went Wine tasting today!!!! and had a nice meal with Wine and some very nice Cheddar!! the Local liquor store managed to supply some LBV Port (1998 Warres) that is****Very nice*** and nicely mellowed I am off to bed, I miss TamLin too, Allison and give my best hugs to Maggie I am sorry to have missed her this time, And Happy birthday for last Friday to Dylan
