Can anyone decipher the French part of the song "Treehugger" by Antsy Pants? I heard it on the soundtrack to the film "Juno"

Found this, but it seems to have been translated to English.

Artist: Antsy Pants
Song: Tree Hugger

The flower said, "I wish I was a tree,"
The tree said, "I wish I could be
A different kind of tree,
The cat wished that it was a bee,
The turtle wished that it could fly
Really high into the sky,
Over rooftops and then dive
Deep into the sea.

And in the sea there is a fish,
A fish that has a secret wish,
A wish to be a big cactus
With a pink flower on it.
And in the sea there is a fish,
A fish that has a secret wish,
A wish to be a big cactus
With a pink flower on it.

And the flower
Would be its offering
Of love to the desert.
And the desert,
So dry and lonely,
That the creatures all
Appreciate the effort.

And the rattlesnake said,
"I wish I had hands so
I could hug you like a man."
And then the cactus said,
"Don't you understand,
My skin is covered with sharp spikes
That'll stab you like a thousand knives.
A hug would be nice,
But hug my flower with your eyes."

The flower said, "I wish I was a tree,"
The tree said, "I wish I could be
A different kind of tree,
The cat wished that it was a bee,
The turtle wished that it could fly
Really high into the sky,
Over rooftops and then dive
Deep into the sea.

And in the sea there is a fish,
A fish that has a secret wish,
A wish to be a big cactus
With a pink flower on it.
And in the sea there is a fish,
A fish that has a secret wish,
A wish to be a big cactus
With a pink flower on it.

And the flower
Would be its offering
Of love to the desert.
And the desert,
So dry and lonely,
That the creatures all
Appreciate the effort.

Any idea where a guy might hear the song? My French is NOT good, but I could take a stab at it.

It's on YouTube and pretty hard to grasp

I could understand that

Et le ??? a dit
Je voudrais être un ???
Pour voler dans un nid
Et m'en aller loin d'ici
Mais le lièvre qui a dit
Je voudrais être un ??? malin
Pour pouvoir ??? dans la mer
De tous les requins.

Btw, did you see that I added a note for you about Ringo?

Right now, it's the best I could come out with

Et le/the jackalope a dit
Je voudrais être un yeti
Pour voler dans la nuit
Et m'en aller loin d'ici
Mais le yeti a dit
Je voudrais être un monstre marin
Pour pouvoir ??? dans la mer
De tous les requins.

I think:

Et le ?chacal-loup? a dit                sounds like chacalope

Je voudrais etre ?immense? marin      sounds like 'mense
Pour pouvoir entrer dans la mer

The second line could be:
Je voudrais etre angelique            sounds like angedi

The third line I thought was:
  Pour voler dans la nuit

but I could easily be wrong about that.

Mick

(Sorry about missing accent, can't be bothered finding them at the moment!).

Sorry, cross-posted there.

I do think the last line has entrer. It's a bit indistinct because they mistime the word and don't come in together.

Should have added that on listening to it the rest (of Monique's version) sounds good. (I had thought monstre marin on first listening, then changed my mind!).

Monique has it right:

Et le jackalope a dit
Je voudrais être un yeti
Pour voler dans la nuit
Et m'en aller loin d'ici
Mais le yeti a dit
Je voudrais être un monstre marin
Pour pouvoir rentrer dans la mer
De tous les requins.

And for those who are wondering what all this means, it roughly translates to:

And the jackalope said
I would like to be a yeti
To fly in the night
And get away from here
But the yeti said
I'd like to be a sea monster
so I can go into the sea
owned by all the sharks

here is the crrect french translation:

Et le Jackalope a dit
Je voudrais être un yeti
Pour voler dans la nuit
Et m'en aller loin d'ici
Mais le yeti a dit
Je voudrais un monstre marin or mansmara (not sure)
Pour pouvoir dormir dans le bain
De tout les requins

Mansmara has no meaning in French. Besides, it wouldn't rhyme with "bain" and "requins". And I hear "Je voudrais être...

Hi everyone, I'm French and I kinda understood something like this:
"Et le ?? (what's a jackalope?) a dit
"Je voudrais être un yéti
Pour voler dans la nuit
Et m'en aller loin d'ici"
Mais le yéti a dit
"Je voudrais être un monstre marin
Pour pouvoir taper dans la main
De tous les requins" "
I think I have it right for the end. Don't you think ? Well, I hope so, anyway.

Et le jackalope a dit
Je voudrais être un yeti
Pour voler dans la nuit
Et m'en aller loin d'ici
Mais le yeti a dit
Je voudrais être un monstre marin
Pour pouvoir rentrer dans la mer
De tous les requins.

rough translation:
and the jackalope said
I would like to be a yeti
to fly away in the night
and go far from here
but the yeti said
I would like to be a sea monster
To be able to return to the sea
of all the sharks.

here's the french part again, but without accents. I don't know if that messes up the way it's viewed on some computers.

Et le jackalope a dit
Je voudrais etre un yeti
Pour voler dans la nuit
Et m'en aller loin d'ici
Mais le yeti a dit
Je voudrais etre un monstre marin
Pour pouvoir rentrer dans la mer
De tous les requins.

Dooliii:
Cf. Wikipédia

I think Dooliii has the last line but one right "taper dans la main".

Yeah, it's very hard, even for a French, to understand what it is said.

That's why they laught during the song..

LOOOOOL !
This is so funny because now I see that my friends who see Juno and me aren't the only ones on that planet that are searching for the French lyrics !
And I must say that we are all friends !
But at least there are always some words missing, the same as all of you.
Thanks for explaining what a "jackalope" is !

Heard the same thing !

Sorry if my English is bad !
