Subject: RE: BS: Feets Don't Fail Me Now.... Eeeeew. From: Bee Date: 08 Jul 08 - 11:36 PM Only in Canada? Not any more. Foot turns up on beach in Sweden. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25590896/ It seems feet in floaty-soled shoes (as in, most shoes) just are the most likely bits to reach shore. Which realization led me to a memory that is now giving me the creeps. Ten or twelve years ago, I walked a very long stretch of shore, kilometres past where most people go - I love coastal hiking. At one point I reached a shortish beach at the bottom of a cliff. The usual assortment of beach debris was there, plastic, broken styrofoam fishing bouys, bits of yellow poly rope, tons of seaweed, driftwood. And a leather belt, buckled. And a running shoe, sole up, half buried in kelp. At the time, the buckled belt made me pause and have a sickish kind of thought. The running shoe just added to the scene. I never for a moment thought... maybe... But I'm thinking about it now, unfortunately. |
