Subject: BS: Do you know who I am (challenge) From: Donuel Date: 25 Mar 09 - 12:13 AM In the way that Paul Harvey told his tales of 'the rest of the story' anyone can be described in such a way as to surprise. Who am I: I interviewed people like Martin Luther King and Mother Theresa. I had Ralph Nader and Bill Cosby on the couch arguing. I introduced new talent like Billy Crystal and George Carlin. Being so close to NYC I got John Lennn and Yoko to come on down and do my show with their guests like Chuck Barry and Bobby Seale for 5 "straight" days. I sang along with Louis Armstrong, Della Reese, Sammy Davis and Red Skelton. I wrestled Andre the Giant. I introduced Tiger Woods to Bob Hope. In the original Disney film Cinderella, I sang the part of Prince Charming. Who am I? |

Subject: RE: BS: Do you know who I am (challenge) From: Donuel Date: 25 Mar 09 - 12:51 AM Our modern timeline would not be right without him. What am I? For the last 6 years I heard you low and slow rumble and drone overhead. I would see you when I looked out the windows of tall buildings, out walking and most often from my backyard where I spent most of my time. I could photograph you but no cameras are allowed inside. You are less frequent than you were 4 years ago. Some days there were 3 of you per day. All told I watched you countless times. I knew what you were and why you were doing what you did, I just knew. You always circled the entire Capitol grounds where few dare to tread and finally went north and then east to rest. Your journey was one of great respect and personal dread. I never spoke of you, there are no words. When I saw taking Chance all the grief of silently watching you for years poured out in uncontrolable tears. |

Subject: RE: BS: Do you know who I am (challenge) From: Rapparee Date: 25 Mar 09 - 11:23 AM While serving as a SEAL team leader during action against enemy aggressor (Viet Cong) forces. Acting in response to reliable intelligence, he led his SEAL team on a mission to capture important members of the enemy's area political cadre known to be located on an island in the bay of Nha Trang . In order to surprise the enemy, he and his team scaled a 350-foot sheer cliff to place themselves above the ledge on which the enemy was located. Splitting his team in 2 elements and coordinating both, he led his men in the treacherous downward descent to the enemy's camp. Just as they neared the end of their descent, intense enemy fire was directed at them, and he received massive injuries from a grenade which exploded at his feet and threw him backward onto the jagged rocks. Although bleeding profusely and suffering great pain, he displayed outstanding, courage and presence of mind in immediately directing his element's fire into the heart of the enemy camp. Utilizing his radioman, he called in the second element's fire support which caught the confused Viet Cong in a devastating crossfire. After successfully suppressing the enemy's fire, and although immobilized by his multiple wounds, he continued to maintain calm, superlative control as he ordered his team to secure and defend an extraction site. He resolutely directed his men, despite his near-unconscious state, until he was eventually evacuated by helicopter. The havoc brought to the enemy by this very successful mission cannot be overestimated. The enemy soldiers who were captured provided critical intelligence to the allied effort. An amputee, he is still very much alive. |

Subject: RE: BS: Do you know who I am (challenge) From: Ebbie Date: 26 Mar 09 - 10:33 PM frogrprince, only three? (Though I am famous, no one knows where (most of) my remains are.) His grave was robbed in the 1800s by some "ultra right-wing religious" people who dumped the remains in some garbage heap. As it happened, neither his head nor his heart was interred with the body. Quote: His heart, however, had been removed from his body, and now lies in the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris. His brain was also removed, but after a series of passings-on over 100 years, disappeared after an auction. enquote From my experience, travel at an advanced age seems contra-(indicated.) He died after returning to Paris to great acclaim at age 83. (Because of my religious views I was denied burial in church ground.) He was eventually buried on the grounds of an abbey. What did I say could make you commit atrocities?) "Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities." More Here Thanks for playing. |
