I will learn, all i have to do is ask. Roger's ex just called- he has turned his life around,too. It seems there will be a good home fo rthe kitties, he's pretty sure, and he has volunteered to drive Toby out to us, if we can find the dosh for him. I think the church might be able to help out. FINALLY! Disguising the step plate in the trap and offering dry food has worked. Commander Cody in INSIDE, home, safe and sound.

My brother asked me to tell all of you thank you very much for your prayers and good thoughts. He really appreciates your concern and support.

Screen has not been fixed-window is closed. New screens this weekend, I hope. Window will stay closed until there are new screens AND something to reinforce them, grill maybe? so that the Commander can't break his way out, again, though the nasty poser hasn't been seen in the neighbourhood since the Rousting Out. (I see a children's book in this or something.)

Apparently no worse for the wear; no injuries that my brother could see. Very hungry and bedraggled. He had tired of tuna and didn't even come out for it early evening last. THEN my bro tells me he LOVES dry food and, of course, hadn't had any all week. So, sez I, disguise the footplate AND put out some dry food. There ya go!

Plus, much as you may love the little bird, kat, I think having a parrot around can be more of a curse than a blessing. Be careful what you wish for!

A friend of mine in NYC chose her parrot EGG. Honey loved opera and could sing many arias from beginning to end - pure torture. She also answered the phone - HELLLOOOO_OOOOOO? Among other things.

Honey also required the presence of a little parakeet or she got depressed. Parakeets don't live as long as parrots and Honey's grief is/was palpable. So now it's one parrot and an endless succession of parakeets. Sure you wouldn't like an ant farm?

Thanks, Sins, you do have a point, or several points. The church has put out a call to anyone who may be interested in giving any of them a home. It would be much less stressful for Toby if he were to be adopted there, but we'll see.

Susan, I don't consider this to be a "lighten up" situation and would appreciate some sensitivity. I also do not need you to *minister* in this thread as you have done elsewhere.

I will not be saying any more on the subject until I know what is happening and I may close this thread if things keep going the way they are.

Forgot to post this last week:

I wanted you to know that Toby, Timmy and Cassie are now in their new home in Vancouver and doing just fine. XXXXX and ZZZZZ seem to be exceptional people and have a nice stable home with, I think, three kids, teenage or so, Roger used to work with XXXX here, and XXXXX used to live in Africa and rehabilitate large birds.

So, it all ended up well for my friend's "kids." Thank you,
