While talking in the pub tonight I was reminded of a number of occasions where I came close to "doing in" friends with a well timed one-liner just as they were swallowing or attempting to swallow a mouthful of thier chosen benefit causing them to choke and splutter uncontrollably when turning a worrying shade of purple.

The question is: if they had met their demise as a result, could I have been convicted of murder or manslaughter?

Friends should know better than to drink and listen to you. Perhaps they were trying for self-induced euthanasia?? Gives new meaning: "to die laughing"! They are responsible for their own error in judgement.

Ah, I am reminded of walking by a church one day, wondering if the people were there for a funeral or a wedding, there seemed to be about equal proportions of weeping and laughing, somber clothes and bright clothes. Then, as I rounded the corner, I saw the hearse and almost died laughing - it was a dead giveaway!

Well, if you gotta go, that seems like a great way.

One tip for murder by laughter... ...the best location is somewhere where laughing is verboten. When I had a dumb desk job in a very quiet office, I whispered a very dumb joke to a co-worker. Not only did he almost die, even worse, almost got fired. He had to take half a day off to get the giggles out.

Every time we had my Mom in the car and we happened to pass a cemetery she would pipe in with, "Do you know why they put fences and walls around graveyards?"
