A little bit off topic - but certainly geographically near the mark!!!

Eliza Carthy is performing at The Stag Theatre in Sevenoaks next Wednesday night (the 16th Sept) - Tickets £16.50

A good friend of mine - Keith Stockman is promoting the concert. He is the guy that organises all of the music at my Aylesford Festival.

Anyway - he is giving me 20 tickets to possibly sell at Knockers if anyone is interested.

PM me in advance if you require or see me during the weekend.

Regards

Kev

I'll be there sometime Thursday PM. I'm bringing a lemon chicken, lots of currant cake and some damson chutney, together with tomatoes and runner beans from the garden. I'll pop home on Friday morning to cook the crumble.
Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Thanks Richard .Re D3 Chord.
Dylan uses D3 quite a lot, Trust him to make things complicated by Messing about with notes.
also
I could not find D3 in the limited chord sites the I.T. dept allow me to have at work. When I typed D3 into the chord finder at work nothing came up.

Shame about the Leopards.

Excellent.
I have got a lift to Knockers and will be on field by 10.0(Hopefully) to oversee the porta loos and Help Woodsie with the Fire.

It is technically a diad - a chord with only teh D and F# notes. Just play a D chord. If you want a "bigger" D chord try 500775

VT, I suspect (hope) you are only having a sodium-crisis and I hope you feel better in time for Knockers.

RB - as always I left it too late for the beer, which needs 5-7 days notice and has to be delivered to its final destination and then left to settle. Aside from being too late it seemed quite a "Parlava", General or otherwise. Regrettably the car must come with me on "Le Shuttle" early Sunday. My survival (and that of my driver's licence) requires my tactical withdrawal from the field of drinking sometime on Saturday!

PlC. I will bring all my "No! to this sort of thing" placards. What colour are the tin hats? I should like everything to be well cooordinated.

I will arrive Wednesday evening because I am sooooo pissed off with work that I am making a stand, in the form of a disappearance if that is possible, from the whole lot of 'em (until Sunday in Bruges).

Have decided not to be worried about things that are out of my control.

If I am well enough, I will be there. Feeling quite dodgy today with sharp neck and jaw pain left side and general icky feeling that goes with palpitations. So I am a bit iffy. Might be the chinese take away from last night. Has happened before.

Really want to be there, because I have been looking forward to this since June.

Bought the potatoes, parsnips and carrots and will prep and parboil Friday night. They can then be finished in whatever way, people choose.
Also planning to bring 2 dozen devilled egg halves and banana loaf.

1)Its has been decided this year that instead of a circle we shall have a stockade. On the Saturday evening.
Please arrive early on the Saturday evening to avoid ,Barb Wire and Man Traps.

2)It has been decided with regret that all Children should be steaked and teathered in order to stop them wandering on to the Mills bomb throwing areana that will be set up on the Far Right side of the field.

3)Pierre Le Chapeau has a supply of Tin Hats on hire at £5.00 a night with a £25.00 returnable deposit.

4)The flint pit will be reopened this year at Dead Tree Copse to supply flints for those Carrying Matchlocks and flintlocks and Blunderbusses to repel any attack.

5)Fisheye has promised to drop his wallet onto a metal tray has a early warning of attack.

If in the affray I should "Run away General Parlava will take my place.

This looks like I will be on me own Wednesday night in the field,

That dont confront me.
if that turns out to be so I will pitch tent await Richard and if I am on me own I will go down the Tally Ho and lord it up with the locals.
looks like I will be alone in the field Saturday night too.
That dont confront me neither. I,ll lord it up with the tally ho lot,get back to field
I will then
brace me self up with a log drink me drink, smoke me smoke and watch the skys and await the arrival of the Saxon hoards. If it makes anyone feel more secure I am bringing six wagons for the perimeter circle and a look out post. Due to lack of folk being there I am hiring two Mere-cats to man the post. More expense.

The only food I am bringing to knockholt is my personal grub I am not spending £s on food for people if they aint gonna show. Has far has foods concerned I will play it by Ear.
My son is not coming solely because of pint ball I mean paint ball.
And Polish bird is working Sunday morning. I am working Sunday night so I will get a Cab home Sunday morn.
Regards Pierre.

"At Chaversham Essex Girl was (if I correctly recall) going to be coming, so to speak."

"Another ring at the bell; it was Gowing, who said he "must apologise for coming so often, and that one of these days we must come round to him." I said: "A very extraordinary thing has struck me." "Something funny, as usual," said Cummings. "Yes," I replied; "I think even you will say so this time. It's concerning you both; for doesn't it seem odd that Gowing's always coming and Cummings' always going?" Carrie, who had evidently quite forgotten about the bath, went into fits of laughter, and as for myself, I fairly doubled up in my chair, till it cracked beneath me. I think this was one of the best jokes I have ever made."

I was very undecided. I am now fairly decided, Captain Indecisive, that's me.

My present plans are (a bit like "eats, shoots, and leaves") are to arrive Weds AM and plan and/or foodshop with Pete, go to a Davey Rumsey gig in Maidstone Weds eve, either come straight back or kip at home in which case return Thurs AM, cut up logs if necessary (never drink before using chainsaws or axes), relax Thurs eve, drink but not to excess in case of need to defend Fri, stay sober help cook and eat Sat and depart before Elton John's song comes true on Saturday Night.

But I may be less tense by then.

Last I heard of Gril Friday the bruising from her fall was coming out which prevented her getting to Faversham (too much walking anyway) and was feared to prevent her Knocking.

At Chaversham Essex Girl was (if I correctly recall) going to be coming, so to speak.

I'll txt KtC and Dilligaf.

Richard, does this mean you may NOT attend?

I need a head count. Haven't heard at all from Kev the Clogs, Essex Girl, Woodsie, Girl Friday and retinue (I am sure there are others).

Planning to buy and prep all this food. If people aren't showing or are leaving Saturday (when we arrive) then who am I feeding it to.?

Yes it is the fine tender baby leafs that makes the finest Nettle tea and if they are in flower all the better. And tender nettle leafs, I suggest, goes into any side veg dish to. Throw in some butter and a bit of Garlick and Bobs your Uncle.
The Nettle will only sting from the stem which is worse because the stinging cells atre longer and the leaf eadges. If you place you thumb and finger on the flat of the leaf they wont sting.

Right sod nettles some thing much more interesting.

My Blood blister which is cockney slang for sister has given me a bottle of Christmas Cracker.
It comes in a funny bottle and has
37%Alc Vol. its a burgandy Red colour and has lots of bits floating about in it.
Does anyone know what it is and above what it tastes like?
I get the impression by looking at it that it may be a muld Wine?

Happy Bithday Richard.
Regards Pierre.

After consulting with a sound North-Country unionist (now barrister) friend I am minded to make a stand and attend - and even mainly stay. If so I will take care that any possessions (defensive or otherwise) are lawful. But who knows what may change.

I have rotgut wine to effect marinade, ginger, and Oval-Greens.

Surely you could arrange to leave car in pub carpark for a week and taxi from the field at 3am to arrive hungover in Bruges on schedule?

OK, I normally keep quiet until close to the last minute as I never know what might happen on the work-front. Unless anything more disastrous happens then I will arrive Thursday morning (or possibly Weds. night, but that's unlikely) and will have to pack up and leave sometime Saturday daytime. Need to be on the early "Le Shuttle" to get to Bruges for Sunday lunchtime where I will probably be stranded until the end of the week. Ho Hum. And Sat night promises to be fab weather!

Or Salmon or Sea trout or Trout (or even haddock) fillets cooked with herbs, a little chili and a substantial vehicle of olive oil (oh, hes, and shedloads of garlic) - baked in a foil jacket with space to steam.

I suppose you could make a saag bhaji out of nettle too.

Nettle *Tops* are the things to go for. In Spring, when bright green in colour. You hit the hedgerows with two bags on each arm. One used to grasp the tops from inside the placcy bag. The other to stuff full of greens. Saute green tops in butter - or put in colander, rinse and bung in pan to steam in own moisture. Eat like Spinach (which means to me, bung a poached egg on it!)
