The question asked about "copying the text of the track titles for including in a label or a jewel box liner"

The jewel box liner is relatively easy. There are a number of free programs that will let you print those inserts.

I've been using Epson Print CD (comes with printer) for years with one of their Stylus Photo R800. One can do different text boxes, fonts, size, styles, all the usual operations. One can also import graphics and edit them. There are less expensive Epson printers that do the same thing but they generally use water-based inks which are more likely to smear.

There are multiple ways of doing this. Some ways are easier than others and some may cost a little for software. In some burning software there is a box to check if you want text burned to the CD along with the music. One does not have to do this to get a music CD but I like having the song titles and artist information on the CD with the music. It is also helpful in some labeling programs that will read the CD text and create labels. I use the Acoustica labeling software which is not all that expensive and will read the CD text, if it is encoded, and can handle lightscribe and also printing to printable CDs or paste on labels if you choose to use them. It also creates nice looking labels for jewel cases and will use whatever images you choose. It will also look up information on albums on the internet. With the software the design processes and printing are quite simple. That software also offers a free trial so one can test the program to see if it works for you. I have also tried several things to insure that text is encoded correctly and have finally settled on a freeware program called Media Monkey. The filename is easy to establish but does not automatically become the encoded name. Media Monkey allows one to copy the file name for the encoded name and also makes it easy to encode a number of tracks in a batch together.

You can get a printer that prints onto CD for relatively little these days. Their software usually includes the capacity to import a track list from a CD or from an iTunes playlist into the layout program for printing to CD.

That's weird, only part of my post showed up.

What I was trying to say is that if you use a program such Nero Cover Designer there is provision for adding text to CD booklets.

Bob-

No easy way. It's generally a custom job in which the titles need to be re-typed.

Some folks lay them out in two columns, left and right, avoiding the hole.

Others attempt to circle the hole with titles.

But it's best to avoid any paper CD labels (which destroy some CD players) and burn the labels onto printable CD's.

Does anyone have a good way, when using a PC to burn an audio CD, of copying the text of the track titles for including in a label or a jewel box liner?
