Subject: The Wail 2010 3-5 September UK
From: Herga Kitty
Date: 16 May 10 - 01:03 PM

It's been referred to in the thread about Max coming to Whitby, and in the thread about Dick and Susan visiting the UK again this year, so I thought I'd start a thread about this year's Wail at Verwood in September. Tents may be available for people prepared to camp but not wanting to lug their own tents to the UK (or to Dorset even)....

I thought I'd amended the thread title before submitting to indicate that this is 3-5 September in UK, but apparently I didn't manage it....

Dick and I are considering going to the Wail. Can anyone put us up near there? or loan us full camping kit?

I have a spare tent (or rather, Manitas has one) that we could loan someone. It's allegedly a 4man Teepee type, but as I've never seen it erect, I can't guarantee the size. Failing that, what has become affectionately known as the Khaki Marquee (or Karky Marky) should be big enough to accommodate 3-4 friendly people or 6-8 very friendly people!

If I were to use my main tent my smaller 2/3 man tent could be made available for visitors from foreign parts.

Also have a spare sleeping bag that would suit a not too rotund person>

So - for those of us not in-the-know - where is this exactly?

Verwood, Dorset,England, UK. Re-badged as the Wail rather than the Wareham Wail because it's been located in Verwood rather than Wareham since 2005.

Enjoyed last year but sadly cannot make it this year. An excellent weekend at a very reasonable cost with excellent real beer. Highly recommended.

George - very reasonable cost if you don't have to bring a campervan from Bray (especially if it's not the Berkshire Bray but the Irish one) .... hope you'll make it back one year!
