A subtle "essence of rose attar" I'm quite sure must be a favorite for Spaw, as for most gentlemen (and a few ladies).

Of course the absence of at least a gentle "flutter" can be something of a disappointment, so perhaps a more complex (reed?) instrument (still in the shape of a goat?) like an obloe would be more appropriate.

I went to my nephew's birthday party but I was feeling like shit and it was getting worse so Karen and I went to the ER where it turned out to be a gall bladder attack......something else in the long string of ailments. But a great thing happened!

I had a private room while waiting for tests with a 36" hi-def flat screen, The bed was pretty comfy, the air conditioning was just right and I enjoyed the entire World Cup match in real comfort! The only thing missing was a beer.

GREAT GAME!!!

And I feel fine now. Or as fine as I get......

I had a feeling something was up so I called Spaw earlier this week and didn't get an answer. I decided to try again, today, and if I still didn't get hold of him or Karen, I was going to call "sister" Connie. Karen answered, today. Pat is in the hospital after having acute appendicitis and an emergency appendectomy on Wednesday! Thank goodness he is like a Timex watch...takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'..again!

He is still in CCU and, until today, was having some "issues," but today he is calm, resting, and, Karen thinks he has turned the corner and will be at least a pale shade of his usual self in another day or two. He is being strongly encouraged by Karen and myself, among others, to get a sleep study done for sleep apnea and, when you read this, Spawdarlin'...you can bite me for putting you on public notice!

Anyway, not totally out of the woods, but doing better and I am sure would appreciate your good thoughts and energy. Karen sends her love and thanks, too.

Seriously, I really hope this will be the last time for a long time and he is home and feeling better in time for Christmas. Karen had this past week off so she and the boys got the "Charlie Brown artificial tree" put up and she and Tris were decorating it, today.

I just checked the billing schedule for Lane, Fielding, Patterson and Swan, Layabouts for Hire and noted that lying around a hospital does not generate billable hours, nor does time spent snoozing under general anaesthesia.

Our fourth quarter earnings are well under projections, even with Fielding working all the overtime he does. You need to get your ass out of the hospital and get back to the serious work of doing nothing.
