Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: olddude Date: 21 Sep 10 - 07:34 PM John my rant is on baseball, don't get me started on that, Oh boy .. teams like Pittsburgh and Cleveland don't have a chance to go anywhere because of what you wrote above. but that is baseball ... well the Packers win again but against my home town team that isn't saying much. Buffalo again is in the drink. 10 years without a playoff ... thank goodness I am not a bills fan as the rest of my family |

My bro in law was razzing me and I said, intently, the Bills will come back and win this game... NAME your price... $100. I won. It was one of the best games I ever saw. |

Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: ranger1 Date: 28 Sep 10 - 04:23 PM Mmmm...I hope the Pats gel pretty soon. Granted, I no longer get to watch or even listen to the games with my current job. Although, now that I think about it, that's even worse, knowing they're playing and not knowing what's going on. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: gnu Date: 03 Oct 10 - 01:48 PM I hope Sev taped the game while he's at the Getaway... 14 zip for The Skins... and, yes, I put another $2 down... yes, I did pick ATL to win. But I'd won't mind seeing them lose to Sev's fav team. |

Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: GUEST Date: 07 Oct 10 - 11:37 PM So, Randy Moss is once again a Viking. Are Brandon Tate and Wes Welker ready to step it up? |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: gnu Date: 08 Oct 10 - 04:22 PM Welker can step it up anytime. First stat.... Since joining the Patriots prior to the 2007 season, Welker leads the NFL with a total of 346 receptions (112 in 2007, 111 in 2008 and 123 in 2009) and leads the NFL with 7.5 receptions per game. The man is a workhorse. |

Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: gnu Date: 17 Oct 10 - 05:36 PM Indeed. The cheers were heart warming. And, in the fifth quarter, he shone even moreso than in the game. He is a class act. His trade was a team building move and to see him return after five years with such enthusiasm and seamlessness as you have said, J-Boy, is a testament to his humble and gentleman self. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: olddude Date: 18 Oct 10 - 08:22 AM Branch lost nothing that I can see ... I questioned the release of Moss, now it makes sense to me ... Well how about my Steelers, Big Ben is back ... |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: olddude Date: 18 Oct 10 - 08:24 AM And no one on TV is talking about last years SB winner ... those guys are gettin it done also .... I think watch out for the Saints later on in the year ... they could very well make a run again |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Dave MacKenzie Date: 18 Oct 10 - 11:18 AM I could swear that I posted a comment about the Niners having managed to win a game before coming to Wembley (even if it was only against the Raiders) |

Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Dave MacKenzie Date: 24 Oct 10 - 06:06 PM The Broncos look like they've already left Denver for Wembley - 38:7 down at the half (and Al Davis is still alive) |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: gnu Date: 25 Oct 10 - 10:38 AM Cleveland? In NO??? Another $2 down the drain. It's fixed! |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Jack the Sailor Date: 25 Oct 10 - 10:56 AM Gnu?? Who took the bet against the Saints? I presume you gave odds? So Dave its Denver and San Fran in Wembley? That is kind of sad. At least you might get to see Saint Tebow play. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Dave MacKenzie Date: 25 Oct 10 - 12:04 PM I'm just hoping that it's "any given Sunday". At least I should have time for a pint or two in "The Moon under the Water" afterwards. If I hadn't already had tickets, I might have gone to Dublin for the Scotland Ireland shinty/hurling, Australia v Ireland at Combined Rules Football plus Edinburgh v Leinster in the Magners League.Sometimes you could be spoiled for choice! |

Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Raptor Date: 26 Oct 10 - 08:45 AM I dream of the day someone in the niners organization realizes we need a quarterback to win a game or two. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Dave MacKenzie Date: 26 Oct 10 - 12:00 PM "I dream of the day someone in the niners organization realizes we need a quarterback to win a game or two." Wasn't there a guy called Eddie something-or-other who used to do that? |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Jack the Sailor Date: 26 Oct 10 - 12:54 PM The Niners used to know that for sure. They had some great ones. Stick a fork in the Cowboys. They are done. No home game Superbowl for them. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Dave MacKenzie Date: 01 Nov 10 - 03:23 PM Had a great time at Wembley - has the change in quarterback turned the Niners' season round - a Superbowl isn't impossible. Biggest cheer was when they flashed up the Cowboys' score, and it's the first time I've heard Jeff Beck live even if it was just for "God Save the Queen". Shame all the English tried to sing along. |

Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Jack the Sailor Date: 01 Nov 10 - 06:04 PM Cheering for a team to win is cool. Cheering for a 1 and 5 team to lose another game is puzzling. |

Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: gnu Date: 02 Nov 10 - 01:54 PM Good one J! |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: gnu Date: 02 Nov 10 - 02:03 PM Nobody is making a move on Moss... I figured the Rams would have made a move by now IF they were gonna. I doubt if the other four will but ya never know. As for Dallas, well I don't think they have enough confidence in their replacement QBs to bother with ANOTHER great receiver. It's possible he will end up ??? I won't say it again. And, I just read Merriman might be released today. Whole lotta shakin goin on. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Jack the Sailor Date: 02 Nov 10 - 03:10 PM The Cowboys have more than enough talent at receiver. Austin, Whitten (TE), Roy Williams this year, the new kid Dez Bryant. They need Moss and his attitude like they need Rosie O'Donnell as a cheer leader. If a couple of premier offensive linemen come up for grabs that might be a different story. But then why bother? With six losses they have almost no chance of making the playoffs even if they win all of their remaining games. Cowboys would be better off shooting for the bottom, trading for picks and picking up a top 5 draft pick from their finish in the standings. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: gnu Date: 02 Nov 10 - 03:55 PM I hear ya JtS. So, will Moss go the full 24 and go Belly UP? Or will one of the other teams who want a shot at The Belly cough up the coin to keep it from happening? |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Jack the Sailor Date: 02 Nov 10 - 03:57 PM Washington might be a possibility. Or some other team without a number of good long threats. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: gnu Date: 02 Nov 10 - 04:14 PM But... they would be spening a whack of coin on a player that cannot help them NOW and obviously wants to be on a "winning" team toward the end of his carrer... if not, why is he "free"? I say he is going back to the Pats... well.... I can dream. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Jack the Sailor Date: 02 Nov 10 - 04:31 PM I don't think the Pats are worse off without him. Maybe the Cowboys will trade them Roy Williams. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: gnu Date: 02 Nov 10 - 04:50 PM Really? Can't see it, but anything is possible. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2010 (US football) From: Jack the Sailor Date: 02 Nov 10 - 04:56 PM I don't see the Pats looking. But I think the Boys will be cleaning out the older items in the attic. |
