One time when I was in the service I was driving a 1947 DeSoto. Some shipmates and I were on the Maine turnpike and of course, we had to "let them out". He was driving a flat head Ford, 1951 vintage doing 100 mph on his clock. I went by him and my clock showed 95. I wonder what caused that?

I asked him how fast he was going and he said 100. I figured his Ford had a very ambitious speedometer.

Yeah, and lived to talk about it... It was in 10th 'er 11th grade and Janet Packard was said to be, ahhhhhhh, how you say it??? Okay... An animal in the back seat of anything with wheels... So I spend an afternoon ridin' in the back seat of Art Buckner's mama's 61 Ford with the gal... Got me a little education that afternoon... The kind ya' don't get in school...
