You ever been interviewed for officer material? That is a standard question (amongst others). When I was asked, I replied that it would depend on the situation but if it was against the justified will of the populace it would be be futile. The colonel said that the Canadian Armed Forces had enough firepower to enforce submission and eliminate any opposition. I asked, "If you killed them, who would you governÉ" I was deemed RMC material. (Short version.)

Three days before being inducted and getting my pic in the papers as being one of three recruits selected from Atlantic Canada, I declined the offer. I didn`t and don't really wanna tangle. Not with that stuff.

It takes two to tangle.

To train a cat of any age. Find a large cardboard box put the litter box in one corner and the food and water in another. A couple of days in that will straighten it out. A cat will not mess in its own space so it will use the litter box.

I have heard of a five-year battery but a 12-year cat is a new one to me. Bot to answer your question, if a litter box is kept clean enough I have never known a cat of any age not to prefer it to any corner.
