Subject: RE: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: Jack the Sailor Date: 30 Jun 11 - 07:00 PM Both ABC and NBC had positive things to say about Canada's manners on their nightly national newscasts. |

Subject: RE: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: gnu Date: 30 Jun 11 - 06:31 PM JtS.... I am gettin the feelin that you is one cool dude moreso than I thought before lately or in the distant past. BTW... it's gnu and not Gnu. I don't care for grandizement of titles. I'll leave that to the Royals. I wonder if them there royals use Royale 'swipe... it's like wiping yer ass with kittens according to the TV ads. Seems appropriate. |
Subject: RE: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: Jack the Sailor Date: 30 Jun 11 - 05:22 PM I think Kate & William just let Gnu call him Bill out of respect of him being a New Brunswicker and thus is cool and he doesn't like all the syllables in "William" and because all three of them know that "Wills" sounds stupid as a name and is nothing more than a department at a law firm. |
Subject: RE: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: gnu Date: 30 Jun 11 - 05:06 PM Yup... them there chickens is hard done by in them there races. It's poultry cruelty it is! >;-0 NO rodeo? How do they think the empire they will inherit was built? PC bullshit I say. I think they should both be given a baseball bat and set on a bronco... hmmm... I suppose some 'Catters don't know what I am talking about. It's cruel but it's better'n glue and pig slop eh. Farmin ain't all warm and fuzzy bunnies. Maybe they should see a few events and how the empire was, and is, built. |
Subject: RE: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 30 Jun 11 - 04:44 PM They will attend some Stampede festivities in Calgary, but it was announced that they will not see any rodeo or chickwagon races. |
Subject: RE: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: Charmion Date: 30 Jun 11 - 04:13 PM Downtown Ottawa is under tight security while Wills & Kate are being ferried from the airport (arrival 1400 hr) to the National Cenotaph to lay a wreath (1430 hr) and thence to Government House, there to put up their feet and brace themselves for an evening of protocol. The Ottawa Citizen is profoundly agog. |
Subject: RE: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: Dave MacKenzie Date: 30 Jun 11 - 03:43 PM Presumably they'll be too busy celebrating the start of the CFL season. |
Subject: RE: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: gnu Date: 30 Jun 11 - 03:35 PM Are you GLUED to the TV? I just delivered a hamburger, spud, turnip and carrot hash fried fit for a future king and his bride to Mum and she said she was watching the royal visit on TV. I said, "Oh my, I gotta run right back home and turn the TV on!" She laughed and said, "I am going to enjoy my hash. I'll bet they aren't going to dine as well as me tonight." Not much of a story but it warmed my heart. |
Subject: RE: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: SINSULL Date: 03 Jun 11 - 09:00 AM Gosh - I just glossed over this thread and I am shocked! Bill Clinton and the Princess????? That randy old goat. But what's her excuse? gnu, If you find a little blue dress hanging in the closet, hold onto it and for heaven's sake don't get it dry cleaned. It may be worth something. |
Subject: RE: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: gnu Date: 02 Jun 11 - 09:02 PM Wise Sandy. Warn the Rankins and Natalie in similar fashion. No mind Rita... she won't heed. And I suppose Anne has already invited them carte blanche but that's her problem... Chuck must be pissed... havin ta get the good suspenders out n all eh? |
Subject: RE: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: Sandy Mc Lean Date: 02 Jun 11 - 08:54 PM Perhaps it is past time that Queen Liz and myself put our ongoing feud to Rest! I would be happy to invite her grandson and his new bride to tea but fear that it may let Charley and Camilla feel free to drop in anytime they wish as well. I guess I had better hold back my invitation for now. |
Subject: RE: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: gnu Date: 02 Jun 11 - 02:21 PM 999... sounds like you might care about your taxes moreso. Billybob smokes pot? Not in my house. He'll have to smoke outside. |

Subject: RE: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: Backwoodsman Date: 02 Jun 11 - 06:41 AM On a point of order, as it's Catherine, not Katherine, shouldn't 'Kate' be spelled 'Cate'? Just wonderin'. |
Subject: RE: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: Rusty Dobro Date: 02 Jun 11 - 02:45 AM Just a heads-up from the UK: last time HM the Q stayed at Dobro Towers, she came to our pub session and particularly enjoyed joining in the chorus of 'Erie Canal'. No-one told us to keep Phil off the ale, though, so that ended badly. Maybe if Will and Kate come to stay you can send them the Bill afterwards? |
Subject: RE: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: Dave MacKenzie Date: 01 Jun 11 - 07:51 PM Actually I can think of another Bill who might come along with Kate - the Royal Protection Squad from the Met. Why's Wills not coming with her? |
Subject: RE: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: gnu Date: 01 Jun 11 - 06:27 PM Indeed, Kate is the Duchess of Cambridge. But if she sleeps in there's no brekky and I'll be singing Irish rebel songs and playing my Rhan... there's a wakeup call and a nudge nudge to move on. |

Subject: RE: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: Beer Date: 31 May 11 - 10:51 PM Shit is starting to hit the fan here in Quebec. Just a small minority though. Just ignorant Assholes. Not surprising. |
Subject: RE: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: gnu Date: 31 May 11 - 03:01 PM Yes, Charmion, they like to sleep in eh wha. Last time, Beth and Phil didn't emerge until after 8AM! I had cooked up a large brekky and thought the smell, especially the bacon and coffee (I ACTUALLY bought coffee after they called) would rouse them but I guess the last few Buds, even though one of the footmen reminded them that I rise early, were too much. Anyway, IF they bother to call ahead I have an answering machine so I'll definitely be screening my calls and sorting out the riff-raff. And, like I said, if they just show up... cellar! And NO coffee. |
Subject: RE: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: Charmion Date: 31 May 11 - 08:12 AM They're expected to drop in for the Musical Ride and the fireworks on Dominion Day, and Ottawa is already bracing for the onslaught. Disliking crowds as I do, that would be a really great day to stay home and maybe put up a couple of batches of strawberry-and-rhubarb jam. However, if they show up in Old Saint Patrick Street, we could of course pop a couple more bratwurst on the barbecue, or even another steak. But they'll have to stay at the EconoLodge on Rideau Street -- Edmund has signed up for the Perth Kilt Run the next day, so we will be out of the house early. |
Subject: RE: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: Dave MacKenzie Date: 31 May 11 - 03:48 AM Just read the article you linked to. No mention of anybody called 'Bill'. Does Wills know? |
Subject: RE: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: Rapparee Date: 30 May 11 - 09:30 PM You mark my words, he's gonna drag is little brother along, just like he did on his honeymoon. Them two are IN-separable! |
Subject: RE: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: Beer Date: 30 May 11 - 09:19 PM Now listen here Gnu. You show them respect, they are young and have no choice in what they represent. Well, maybe Kate did(does). But I bet if you got in contact with Billybob and asked that it was a BYOB he would show up with a 6 pack and be the life of a party. ad. |
Subject: BS: Bill and Kate to visit Canada From: gnu Date: 30 May 11 - 08:05 PM Bill and Kate coming soon. Billybob never called me so I can get the place cleaned up and some proper fillies on the barby. And I'll be damned if I am doing "Anne" with them at the last minute. So pretentious those royals. If they just "show up" they can sleep in the basement bedroom just like his mum did the last time. I am tired of them taking advantage at the last minute. |
