Subject: Ed Pickford - No More Deaths for Dollars From: 2581 Date: 19 Jun 12 - 11:03 PM Ed Pickford, the brilliant British songwriter - who wrote "Farewell Johnny Miner", "The Pound A Week Rise", "One Miner's Life" and "Ee Aye, Aa Cud Hew" - has written a new folk song titled "No More Deaths for Dollars". It's a tribute to Mother Jones (1837-1930), the fearless union activist and community organizer who helped organize/unionize the Appalachian, Illinois and Colorado coalfields. We certainly could use a few more folks like Mother Jones today... everywhere in the world. Here is a link to Ed's song: "No More Deaths for Dollars" |
