That would posit the existence of real tea in the U.S. - wch is pretty difficult to find, unless imported from Britain.

I've purposely not been following this thread, because I think the move IS to abolish the IRS but for different reasons than I care to argue about.....but..that being said, I thought I'd take a moment to point something out, that really isn't 'cool' at all..in the least bit...

The civil rights struggle, was based on the principle, in our Constitution, that people should not be discriminated by RACE, CREED or COLOR...right?....CREED is right there with the other two.....and yet what is the difference of the tone of this statement, made by Greg: "But I do uunderstand - it's tough to be objective when you know that the whole world is out to getcha- most likely because you're Jewish."

Now that is rather hypocritical, being as it is tantamount to calling him a 'nigger'....but you replaced your RACE/COLOR discrimination, for his religion, or even Race(in a stretch)....I thought 'so-called liberals' were against that type of stuff, eh?

So knock it off....and I don't give a rat's ass's hemorrhoid about any stupid, fucking snide 'comeback', that you might attempt..OK?...Not only should you apologize, AND you should get your act together, as long as we ALL live on the same planet.

I worked for thirty years as a government investigator. We were taught to follow our common sense and our hunches, and explore where those led us. Nonprofit organizations that engage in partisan politics, cannot have tax-exempt status. If I were an IRS investigator, both my common sense and my hunches (and what I read in the newspaper) would tell me that organizations with the name "Tea Party" would be likely to be involved in partisan politics.

Now, if these "Tea Party" organizations want to be left alone, all they have to do is forfeit their tax-exempt status.

It seems the IRS was induced/told/instructed to check out tea party people

"Seems"??? By whom? This is just more unsubstantiated, fantasy TeaPublican bullshit.

It seems the IRS was induced/told/instructed to check out tea party people. Overkill I say. I'm sure the government's PRISM project and phone surveillance operations would have found what it wanted.

Hell, they were such good ideas that the UK government got involved and neglected to tell its citizens. It wouldn't surprise me to find that Canada has gleaned its share of info. Secret laws? What the hell kind of government passes secret laws, passes laws in secrecy?

Well, Elmore - perhaps we should also consider that he may not be ill at all.

There is also the possibility that, at bottom, he's just an obnoxious, foul-mouthed, ignorant, shit-stirring asshole.

I only offer this for consideration.

How long did it take you, by the way?

The U.S. government has proven it cannot operate within the confines of the law. Leave it no wiggle room on the application of the income tax. No tax loopholes, no favoritism to fatcat donors. Flat tax, all pay the same percentage. The surge in tax revenue coming from the wealthy would offset the reduction from the middle class. That would be "fair" to the majority. So what if George Soros has to pay taxes all of a sudden. Boo hoo hoo.

The first sentence of that is germane to the topic of the thread. With a flat tax, the wealthy would be forced to pay income tax. No loopholes to hide in.

Ted Cruz wants to abolish the IRS and go to a flat tax. Ron Paul wanted to abolish the IRS and eliminate the federal income tax. That's pretty extreme, but Cruz' idea seems reasonable. Just get rid of the criminal organization that terrorizes tax money out of the populace, and simplify the tax code.

Something you may not know about the income tax:

The Truth Comes Out: Former IRS Director Steve Miller Admits Taxes Are Voluntary

Steve Miller, former Director of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), admitted at a Congressional hearing that the taxes collected by the IRS are not mandatory – but voluntary.

When questioned at the House Ways and Means Committee (WMC) hearing last week, Miller told House Representative Devin Nunes that "America's tax system is 'voluntary'". When Nunes remarked for clarification that the US tax code is a "voluntary system", Miller said, "Agreed."

House Representative Xavier Becerra commented that the ruse of the IRS is kept as a public confidence in the system scheme to keep Americans paying money to the IRS.

Miller confirmed this is so.

You bloodsuckers need the federal money. I get it. You want the government to crush it out of the poor so you can continue to pretend you're liberals.

Abolish the IRS. Get rid of its tens of thousands of employees, its SWAT teams, its Obamacare new hires. Get rid of it.

Let Treasury set up a streamlined organization that's about a tenth the size. You wouldn't need legal experts to calculate ten percent--you either paid it or you didn't. Save the investigators for the cases that don't add up and check into those. If a crime was committed, punish.

This must make you big government proponents nervous, but you're about to lose it all anyway. The fiat dollar is dead. So are the other paper currencies. The big banks will play one currency off against another for a while, and then the carbon tax will be brought to you by the same people that stole your pensions and savings. And you'll sign on for it, because it's government approved.

These straight-tax postcard returns seem just the thing. Then all the wage earners can send in their postcards and support their country like good, law-abiding citizens. Simple, straightforward, no loopholes.

What about those people who don't make their money by working for wages? You know, those wealthy folks who make money by investments and inheritances and owning businesses and gifts from Daddy and political contributions from Super PACs? What about them?

And if we abolish the IRS, who's going to keep those wealthy people honest and make sure they pay their fair share of taxes?

Oh.

Yeah, I saw that article.

Financial literacy among old people in the U.S. means belonging to a pension plan that supports Raytheon and Monsanto. Others have to die so that you can live. That's it. That's the system.

And the system is also about to collapse, it's so top-heavy with derivative debt. The Cyprus fiasco is about to happen across Europe and then the U.S. Your savings will be stolen, then your pensions.

Unless citizens begin taking action. A million Turks are protesting Goldman Sachs and the other big banks right now. The Turks know that their country has been taken over by multinational banks. And those banks will starve nations into obedience.

It's not too late for the U.S., but we need to change some things. Abolishing the IRS and restructuring the tax system that favors the wealthy would be a start.

I'd like to see "the greatest generation" take part in the restructuring. Give them a chance to redeem themselves for squandering their childrens' futures. Your descendants are now being crushed under student loan debt, and Obama's "plan" to fix the problem will save the average student loan debtor 25 cents per week.

How'd you oldtimers let things get to this point? And what are you going to do about it? Cruz has a plan. What's yours?

Songwronger is a Young American?

Illiterate idiocy doesn't deserve any more comment now than the 300 other times threads on the same subject have been started.

Just another stupid FLAME.

I bet you rely on the abusive tax system for your income. It always comes down to pocketbooks. People vote to keep their paychecks coming. Problem is, too many paychecks now come from the federal government. A change in the income stream must be a frightening thought for government dependents. But a flat rate need not result in a diminishment of that stream.

At any rate, the IRS needs to go. Their methods are reminiscent of old King George's. Abusive, lawless.
