Subject: RE: BS: Olddude heart attack From: Lonesome EJ Date: 09 Jun 14 - 11:20 AM Dan, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, although it may be hard to tell the difference right now. Thinking of you, friend! |
Subject: RE: BS: Olddude heart attack From: GUEST,RB Date: 09 Jun 14 - 11:34 AM and then there was the elusive Humphrey/Muskie back in '68, but the Nixon/Agnew was a lot more fishy |
Subject: RE: BS: Olddude heart attack From: GUEST Date: 09 Jun 14 - 12:01 PM Dan, we use muskellunge, up here to tow our water skiers. So you have some idea, guys are getting ready to use the fry they're holding to bait the hook. BM |
Subject: RE: BS: Olddude heart attack From: Rapparee Date: 09 Jun 14 - 12:24 PM So that means that which doesn't make you stronger kills you? Don't buy into that! Caught a big crappie on a #7 fly rod the other day, using a #64 black gnat I tied myself. Fought that fish for 18 straight hours, never once stopping for anything. Water level in reservoir fell 17 feet when I pulled it out, so I had to do catch and release. The crappie tossed me my limit in 30 pound salmon as a way of saying thanks. |
Subject: RE: BS: Olddude heart attack From: olddude Date: 09 Jun 14 - 01:22 PM Hey can't stop laughing ouch thats just mean where did I leave that damn heart pillow Lol q was right they should have used my 992b hell that would keep time to the pump |

Subject: RE: BS: Olddude heart attack From: gnu Date: 09 Jun 14 - 07:26 PM We got sturgeon in the Saint John watershed, Dan. Big buggers! Okay... fish story... Labrador. So, we put to shore fer a boilup. Dan is about thigh deep in the lake and fishin. He takes a piss and the red devil is about a foot over the water while he holds the rod between his legs. Well, both of them, I guess but his legs are holding the fishing rod secure. A huge pike swims between his legs from behind, breaks water and nails the red devil lure and takes off. Dan is pissin all over, including on himself. He grabs the fishing rod and reels in the pike and whips it back on shore about 20 feet in the woods. The air was blue. He marched back into the woods and, well, the pike didn't make it... not even to the BBQ. Raven meat. I got pics of that day... somewhere. Sigh. |
Subject: RE: BS: Olddude heart attack From: Rapparee Date: 10 Jun 14 - 12:02 AM Why do you laugh at a true tale? Would you laugh if I told you about the trout I caught -- 32 pound Cutthroat. Naturally I wanted to keep it, but I was a good boy and turned it loose again. It was so grateful that all the rest of that Summer all I'd have to do is show up at the Ole Fishin' Spot and that trout would not only show me where the other fish were AND indicate what they were biting on, but would sometimes get so exasperated with me that it would just flip a couple nice sized ones on shore for me. Never exceeded the fishing regs limits, either (all you can catch plus one). |
Subject: RE: BS: Olddude heart attack From: olddude Date: 10 Jun 14 - 12:14 AM Yer killing me rap god... Ok ya going fishing with me. Muskie sturgeon maybe one of those monsters garr fish. River monsters like the guy on tv.. We have all caught countless game fish. Time now for heavy gear and big boys |

Subject: RE: BS: Olddude heart attack From: gnu Date: 10 Jun 14 - 06:05 AM Buddy : "Wassa bag limit?" Udder Buddy : "Much as a bag will 'old, zir." |
Subject: RE: BS: Olddude heart attack From: Rapparee Date: 10 Jun 14 - 10:07 AM Okay, I shan't tell you more about my life in The West. Actually, the fishing is lousy, what you keep tastes like mud, and everything glows in the dark from the radiation. If you do go fishing you'll probably return broke because bandits will have taken everything you own (ever walk through sagebrush and stuff stark naked while dodging Girl Scouts out collecting plant specimens for a merit badge?) Actually, the fish never develop beyond the fertilized egg stage, so they're too small to deal with. The sun beats down on your fruitless fishing until you're driving four feet into the volcanic sand the cover the entire West and eventually a cow will come and poop on your head. |
Subject: RE: BS: Olddude heart attack From: olddude Date: 10 Jun 14 - 01:06 PM Lol ok yer killing me. We can fish here in the east however they may still glow in the dark |

Subject: RE: BS: Olddude heart attack From: Rapparee Date: 12 Jun 14 - 03:42 PM Wiener dogs make good bait too, but they're hard to keep on the hook -- or get on the hook because they tend to bite and squirm and yip and run away. But anyway, this one's for Olddude (and anyone else weird enough to appreciate it). |
Subject: RE: BS: Olddude heart attack From: GUEST Date: 12 Jun 14 - 04:05 PM Great news. BM |
