Friends of mine are looking for a song:-

All he knows that part of it goes....

When its 3 o'clock in the morning and the moon shines through the park
The railway men are going to work and the dogs creep home in the dark.
With a long narrow shovel and bread and cheese and a little white can for my tea
When I'm too old for a fireman's job a driver I will be. Thinks it's called the Railway Song.... Any info would be welcomed.

I recall my tea - from a constantly simmering kettle on a soid fuel stove - in the old manual signalboxes tasted pretty good! Never sampled the delights of a bacon & egg butty cooked on a shovel though.....
