Subject: WW II song POW Dunkirk Battlefield Band From: GUEST,Busker Joe Date: 18 Apr 21 - 05:23 PM I'm fairly certain that the song I'm seeking was composed by a member of the Battlefield Band. Story of his uncle, taken prisoner by the Germans while his brother was successfully evacuated and witnessed his sibling's capture, helpless. Later the uncle became embittered as the war's successes were touted ~ said he felt somehow ashamed, as if it was his fault. Eventually he emigrated to Canada ~ didn't want to live in the country he felt betrayed by. |
