I have noticed in the past (in various threads) that there are other admirers of Battlefield Band on this board... don't know if many are aware of it, but Davy Steele (wonderful singer for the band) has been quite ill - I firmly believe that our positive thoughts/prayers for his complete recovery would mean a lot... There's a lot to be said for the power of positivity, don't you think? Those of you who have enjoyed the music of Battlefield Band, please send a prayer, positive wish or hope in the direction of Scotland, if you would? - Victoria

I saw the band in Fareham, Hampshire, UK recently - spoke to Alan who said that Davy was on the road to recovery but would not be re-joining the band.

Sorry to hear that - just when things were going so well again for the BB. I saw them (with Davy) in Hamburg in January. I DO hope he will make a full recovery! - Susanne

Apparently, he had a stroke - not a particularly bad one according to Alan Reid - but bad enough to make him reassess his lifestyle etc I guess.

I, too, greatly enjoy their music and am glad to hear that Davy is going to be OK, while sad to hear he is quitting the band.

Thanks for the info, Victoria!

I hope he won't quit music altogether. I'd like to hear singing more Rabbie Burn's songs like he's done on The Complete Songs and the Merry Muses.

Continued prayers and support for Davy Steele, if you would. Apparently the stroke was a misdiagnosis, and his condition is much more serious than was at first surmised! - Victoria

For anyone wishing to keep up with news of Davy's situation (as well as Battlefield Band) updates are being posted (as they are received) on the message board portion of the site at http://www.mcclellanweb.com/bfb/ According to the latest information, Davy has been diagnosed with a brain tumor, and a biopsy was done earlier this week. Davy at this time is home again, recovering from surgery, and awaiting the results of the biopsy. Again, positive thoughts and prayers can mean the world, and I know that he appreciates them, so thank you! - Victoria
