Heya folks,

I went to a Show of Hands gig at the weekend and they sang a song I can’t remember the name of or find online – not much to go on but I hoped someone might recognise it from the story!

The story behind it was: they met a guy trying to start out as a musician. He said to them they could play support for him when he was famous. A few years later they were gigging and found him in a hotel lobby selling insurance.

The song was about the long hard road to becoming a professional musician. I have a couple lines going round in my head - ‘four years to play the guitar, three years to sing in tune’ – but that’s all I can remember.

Any help much appreciated!

Perhaps checking their recent shows on Setlist.fm will jog your mind? Not seeing a listing from this past weekend, but groups will often stick to the same several songs in a certain period.

Oh that's worked it! Thank you. Beat about the Bush. Kinda embarassed, that's off their 1994 album but a new one to me!
