Subject: Ramblin' Jack movie From: Jacob B Date: 01 Jun 00 - 02:40 PM I've checked all of the recent Ramblin' Jack threads, and, as far as I can tell, there's no mention of this, so I guess this is news. I had lunch at a shopping mall which has computer screens which give information about upcoming movies. I clicked through page after page of listings of silly summer movies, and then noticed a movie called Ramblin' Jack. I clicked for more information, and sure enough, the movie is a documentary about folksinger Ramblin' Jack Elliot, with appearances by other singers, including Pete Seeger and Odetta. You heard it here first! And that's all the information I have, unfortunately. |
Subject: RE: Ramblin' Jack movie From: Mike Regenstreif Date: 01 Jun 00 - 02:48 PM The film won an award at the Sundance Film Festival this year. A couple of years ago, Jack had a film crew following him around at the Champlain Valley Folk Festival. I assume it was for this film. Mike Regenstreif |
Subject: RE: Ramblin' Jack movie From: Stefan Wirz Date: 01 Jun 00 - 03:19 PM On 04/21/2000 I got the following message from Ken Haverly: "I heard Jack today on a nationally broadcast radio show (The Prairie Home Companion). He sounded great, and said his daughter is just about finished with a filmed biography of him which should be released soon." |

Looks like Jack is pretty popular on the Net. Sorry for the typo. - Mark
