I want some information on Ramblin' Jack Elliott, a folk singer from the 60s. What I would really like to know is if he is still around, and playing for audiences, and if so where, and when?

Amazing, I first saw him in a small club in D.C. some 52 years ago. His album of Woody Guthrie songs was my into to the man (both men) and I devoured it whole. I was happy to get the chance to tell him so and he was so kind and gracious to a couple of young admirers.

Lat time I saw him was at the Press Room in Portsmouth, NH (my home pub) back somewhere, I think, in the early 1990s. Bruce Pratt opened for him.

I think Jay Smith and Bruce Pingree had to send out a search party to round him up for the gig — Jack had gone rambling...

Ramblin' Jack appeared with Andy Hedges and crew as part of the release of Andy's Roll On, Cowboys CD. Ramblin' sings some songs on the CD, does a fine recitation and tells of being with Woody Guthrie. That's all I'm saying, you really have to hear the CD.
