Does anyone know the chords for the seldom sung verse of the old Eddie Cantor song, "Makin' Whoopie"? It starts with something about "When I hear that song from Lohengrin". I have the words. It's on Dave Van Ronk's "Hummin' To Myself" CD. I'm trying to work out an arrangement for one of my mandolin students. Thanks in advance, Mike Miller

Ok, ready? here goes nothin...

Ev'ry time I hear that march from Lohengrin,
I am always on the outside looking in.
Maybe that is why I see the funny side,
when I see a fallen brother take a bride.
Weddings make a lot of people sad, but
if you're not the groom they're not so bad.

Anahootz, whoever you are, I am eternally grateful. Not only did you know the chords, you, actually, knew that the verse existed, which is more than my usual sources did. This Mudcat has been a Godsend. Mike Miller

Any mention of Ted Danson in this thread is purely coincidental!
