I am happy and honored to say that the legendary Odetta will be joining me (via telephone) this Sunday on the TRADITIONS program on WFDU.

She will be talking of her life and her new recordings---and we shall be playing music from them and from some earlier works.

Her personality and dynamism is unique.

Hope you can join us---TRADITIONS airs from 3-6 PM EDT. This interview will be on around 5 PM.

WFDU reaches the tri state NY NJ CT area on the frequency of 89.1 FM. ALso you can hear us on the web www.wfdu.fm

I don't know how to make that web address turn blue---only my complexion can turn that color. Must check my circulation---or---if I owned a magazine I would certainly be concerned about my circulation.

Wow, right after Alice recommended her to me! I don't know if I'll be able to hear it, seeing as it's Mother's Day, but I hope to catch some of it.

Wow. I heard her on the Prairie Home Companion show recently, and she can still reach the back of the hall even when she's singing pianissimo. Wonderful, rich, powerful voice. I don't think I'll be able to catch your show, alas, but I'm really happy to see that she's on the circuit these days. Long may she sing!

This should be a terrific show. I'd guess that it will be a highlight for you, Bill, to have an interview with her. She is an extraordinary performer vocally, musically, influentially, etc., etc., etc. I too, heard her recently on A Prairie Home Companion, (4/27/02) and she blew the roof off of Town Hall, NYC.
