Subject: LOTR - The Musical From: Naemanson Date: 12 Feb 03 - 08:47 AM At the Middle Earth party Fred came up with a great game idea. Consider the Lord Of The Rings as a Broadway musical using existing songs. Who would sing what song? How would it fit into the production? Consider Arwen and Aragorn on that bridge. The music builds as he takes her in his arms and then he sings (From The Sound Of Music) "I am 61, you are 2,527..." Or perhaps in Lothlorien the Company is presented to Galadriel. As she bids them to go to their rest they turn away and launch into (From South Pacific) "There ain't nothing like a dame..." Anyone want to add to the fun? |

Subject: RE: LOTR - The Musical From: Naemanson Date: 12 Feb 03 - 12:56 PM Once upon a time I went to a Science Fiction convention. There I saw a diorama made with small D&D figures. The scene was a kitchen floor in a corner of a kitchen. There were several cockroaches backed into a corner by a number of spear wielding orcs. There was one cockraoch upside down with a spear through it. The title of the diorama? "Call The Orcan Army, Your Best Defense Against Pests." [For those who don't know, Orkan is a pesticide company here isn the States.] |
Subject: RE: LOTR - The Musical From: GUEST,Cluin @ girlfriend's Date: 12 Feb 03 - 01:10 PM I remember Mad Magazine did a parody of LOTR years ago, when the Ralph Bakshi cartoon first came out. Their version was a musical too, full of songs sung to the tune of.... I remember one that started, "We are four hobbits just out for a stroll..." (I don't remember the tune it went to, though). I do remember it was pretty funny... at least back then. |

Subject: RE: LOTR - The Musical From: Alice Date: 12 Feb 03 - 11:00 PM Sam's theme song and pep-talk to Frodo, Gotta Have Heart Words and Music by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross (© 1955/1983) You've gotta have heart, All you really need is heart When the odds are sayin' you'll never win, That's when the grin should start. You've gotta have hope, Mustn't sit around and mope, Nothin's half as bad as it may appear, Wait'll next year and hope. When your luck is battin' zero, Get your chin up off the floor; Mister, you can be a hero, You can open any door, there's nothin' to it, but to do it, You've gotta have heart, Miles 'n' miles 'n' miles of heart, Oh, it's fine to be a genius, of course, but keep that old horse before the cart, First you've gotta have heart. First you've gotta have heart. |
