Subject: TAB Req: Mandolin - Eileen's Waltz From: Áine Date: 03 Mar 03 - 11:25 AM Dear fellow mandolinquents, Dear Hubby surprised me with a copy of the CD, 'Bluegrass '97', over the weekend, and on it is a lovely tune called Eileen's Waltz. I've googled unsucessfully to find a TAB or any information about this tune. The CD is a copy, so I don't have any liner notes at all. Do any of you know this tune? If you can point me to a TAB of it, or can tell me anything else about it, I'd be grateful. All the best, Áine |
Subject: RE: TAB Req: Mandolin - Eileen's Waltz From: Rustic Rebel Date: 03 Mar 03 - 02:15 PM Aine- I tried a little search. I typed in Eileen's waltz and came up with a few things. This site has your Cd with some info. I think they said the song was in D but can't remember now. clicky Other info brought me to The Kibbey Family. The song is on their album, "Believe in the Son", recorded at Allusion Studios, produced by Bill Kibbey. and for more info into their music they gave this address; The Kibbey Family 3560 E. Hawser Rd. Tucson AZ. 85739 Good Luck to you, Rustic |
Subject: RE: TAB Req: Mandolin - Eileen's Waltz From: Aidan Crossey Date: 04 Mar 03 - 07:33 AM Áine ... I'd love to help. But this is off my patch or, as they say where I've relocated, "it ain't my manor". Come on all you bluegrass/old-timey people. Help the woman out! |

Subject: RE: TAB Req: Mandolin - Eileen's Waltz From: Áine Date: 05 Mar 03 - 11:30 AM Thank you for the 'clicky', Rustic. After I posted this message, I googled again and found that same page. I'd order the book, if I played the banjo. ;-) And thanks for the headsup on the Kibbey Family CD, too. And thanks for checking in, Aidan. I really wish you knew this tune, because your tablatures are the best I've ever seen (now, don't tell Dennis at the Mandolin Cafe that I said that). I'd attempt to tab this one myself; but, the recording I have is an ensemble arrangement (fiddle, guitar, banjo and mandolin) -- and I'm having a hard time making out the entire melody from all the 'solo' treatments. All the best, Áine |

Subject: RE: TAB Req: Mandolin - Eileen's Waltz From: Áine Date: 19 Mar 03 - 02:11 PM I finally found the time to sit down and tab this tune out for the mando. If anyone is interested in seeing it, just drop me a line via email at doireanne@yahoo.com or PM me here at the 'Cat, and I'll be happy to send it to you. I've also tabbed out Tom Bigbee's Waltz for the mando, too, and I'll send that to you as well, if you'd like. All the best, Áine |
