...or maybe this should be technology. Anyway, take a look href="http://customwire.ap.org/dynamic/stories/I/INTERNET_TOILET?SITE=IDBOI&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT">here
and find the future! (Gives a whole new meaning to the group "Butthole Surfers".)

I saw the story about this a little while ago on Yahoo.

The most stupid idea ever.

I prefer clever grafiti instead.

Don't need them with the newer cellphones already giving acces damn near anywhere. Drove Rog nuts when he was in Venezuela a few years ago, not internet, BUT everywhere he went the guys would be in the loo, self in hand while talking away on their cellphones in their other hands! I mean, some places should stay INaccessible!!

There's also a story about a new computer screen that can be rolled up; it's very flexible. Maybe the computer screen could be rolled onto a core and when you finished surfing from the "throne" you could use the screen to...well, never mind.

I don't expect to see this catch on. Why? Because people will be staying in there, on line, tying up the loo, while others stand impatiently by, and subsequently complain bitterly to the management.

On the other hand, there was a GOOD idea in that article: Toilet paper with MicroSoft on it. Just what I'd want to wipe with.

Why of COURSE this is the coming thing! Do you doubt? Pioneers have already broken the barriers between producing waste and disposing of waste!

I'm with kat! I used to work for a woman who had a telephone in her bathroom. I thought that was just about the most ridiculous thing ever. I mean, an emergency is one thing, but really...

Cletus, Paw, Buford, and the Reg Boys are going to stop by this evening to show me their new crappers on casters which they built from some stuff they acquired from Bob Evans Farm, the sausage maker. I'd be surprised though if theirs included this. I do hear they have something a bit different from other porta-potties though......Stay Tuned on the Spaw's Birthday thread.

Surely this is a joke? Please tell me it's a joke.... it's bad enough finding a public loo that is accessible, doesn't cost more than 10p and doesn't automatically open the door exposing you to public ridicule after 10 minutes! Or doesn't shower you with disinfectant if you go back in for the coat you left behind.........

Is the keyboard for use before, after or during? I can see some hand washing issues coming up here....

And what if someone mistakes 'insert your floppy'.......?

What is really needed in the porta-potties is an ejection mechanism with a button mounted externally! One little push and the seat of ease is again ready for action.

This would make Utah Phillips' old story obsolete...

The one about the (American) Indian who joined the Navy and got trained as an electrician.

After he got out, he went home, and ran electricity in to all the tribal outhouses.

He was, of course, the first Indian who ever wired a head for a reservation.

So I guess with the toilet hooked up to the internet it will also be paperless? Could be a problem.

Will all the Emails come in with footers that say 'Now wash your hands please'?

And who's going to be brave enough to set up the webcam? Regretably, I know some perverts who would be rivetted to the screen watching it!

I stayed in a place once with a phone in the bathroom. A bit over the top, I thought.

This, on the other hand is right up there with caffeinated glow in the dark beer (yes, there IS such a product!). I give Tom a hard time when he brings the cordless phone up to me while I'm lounging in my bubble bath.

I agree, the best part of the deal is toilet paper with Microsloth on it.

Sure does open up a lot of possible punnish comments, though.

Of course you would be a GUEST, and if we don't like what you are saying, we could tell you your post is a big pile of s**t and suggest what you can do with it :-)

Well, it can't be that far away can it... after all, there is a park bench in Norwich Castle Gardens, Norfolk, UK, that has an internet socket - for workers to plug laptops into at lunch break.

I wonder if they had planned to install porn filters in these things. Would probably have some effect on how long some individuals would spend inside...
