For those of you not in the know, here is Bill Staines' web page
and his touring Itinerary
is here.
Nanci Griffith had his song Roseville Fair on her Lone Start State of Mind "album" if i am not mistaken, and one of the most requested kid's songs that I ssing is his Critter Choir. (I suggested to the guy who does his web page that Charle Paton was not a name that most would connect with our beloved Folk Legacy Record man, Sandy.)HE is a great story singer.

Bill told us last night that the book was stalled for at least another month. The concert at Slates was quite wonderful.

Well, we get to hear Bill Staines tonight (Monday) at Slates Restaurant in Hallowell, Maine. Even though we live next to his home state of New Hampshire, we seldom get to see him.

Cheerily,
Charley Noble

Be sure and check out Bill's new autobiography. It should be in print by now. Bill is coming to Carbondale, Il. in early October, and I look forward to getting my copy at that time. I was privileged to read the first chapter when he was just starting to write it.

It's that time of year again when Paul (Musicman) sponsors a visit from singer/songwriter Bill Staines! This year, Bill will be delighting Saltspring Islanders with his talent and wealth of song on October 19th.

Paul strongly identifies with Bill, and is dedicated to building "Bridges" between people through music and song.

As most of you know, many people of beautiful BC have been traumatized by the ravages of fire. Most carried fire insurance, many could simply not afford to. These families are having to start all over again. There is also a province wide effort to raise funds to rebuild the historic wooden Kettle Valley Railway Tressles that were distroyed by fire this past week.

Paul and I would like to take the opportunity at Bill's concert to raffle off CD's from our friends and neighbours in an effort to build a bridge of support for these many people in need. If indeed any of you would like to donate a CD to this cause please PM myself or Musicman. Of course we will promote your talents and spirit of good will! AND you will get a chance to "share the stage" with Bill. Paul and Bill have already donated their CD's to the cause and we're hoping that some of you might like to, as well.

Thanks for listening...more concert details to come!
LL
