Vin always attributes the song to the writer Brian Bedford and rightfully praises him highly. I would also add that that IMHO opinion that dear departed John Wright also made a superb rendition of this song.
To see them both live (on many occasions) deliver their own versions of this song has been spine chilling in the delivery and performance of such a beautiful song.

Brian is the male member (I mean that musically) of the wondeful unacc. harmony trio Artisan, who also sing a superb version.

WINGS or, to give the song its full title, "What's the Use of Wings" was written by Brian Bedford.

Vin Garbutt did record a superb version.
