Subject: Tune Req: Steal Away Coulter From: GUEST,Tessa Date: 10 Apr 04 - 04:46 PM Greetings, I'm from a regrettably drought-riddden area as far as folk sheet music goes (just moved)... can anyone tell me how to get hold of the tune? BB |
Subject: RE: Tune Req: Steal Away Coulter From: GUEST,Helen, cookieless - arguing with 'puter re c Date: 10 Apr 04 - 05:55 PM I did a search on Google for "steal away" "sheet music" (use the double quotes to search for phrases) Musicroom.com This page came up with a search of music books containing the song. Be careful to make sure that it is the Phil Coulter song and not another song by the same name. This song is still in copyright, otherwise someone could send you a copy, for personal study reasons only. I would be surprised if there are any midi files available for the same reason. I like the songs included in this book. I know almost all of them, and the ones I know are some of my enduring favourites. Tranquillity: The Piano Solos Of Phil Coulter Steal Away has been a favourite of mine since I first heard it. Lovely song. Helen P.S. Tessa, welcome to Mudcat. It's a great place with some of the nicest people on earth. Have you thought about becoming a member? |
Subject: RE: Tune Req: Steal Away Coulter From: GUEST,Helen again Date: 10 Apr 04 - 06:38 PM Sorry, Tessa, I realise you said you couldn't get much sheet music where you are. I meant to say that I have become reliant on the Internet for searching for music which I cannot find here in Newcastle, Oz. I only order from trusted sites or I search for what I want and then order by mail or fax, or order the item from the local music shop after taking careful note of catalogue numbers or ISBN's (International Standard Book Numbers). Hope this helps. Helen |

Subject: RE: Tune Req: Steal Away Coulter From: Marion in Cornwall Date: 11 Apr 04 - 10:03 AM Tessa, Here's an ABC version of the tune (if that's any good). It's taken from the Furey's songbook and is a lovely song - one of my favourites. If this is no good for you, then pm me with an email address and I'll send you a pic.
