Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: LindsayInWales Date: 05 May 04 - 09:44 PM I'm in South Wales UK, and am a great lover of t-shirts (mis-spent youth and all in the 60s when I should have been a polite young lady but preferred playing with spanners and getting dirty pulling old motorbikes to bits) just curious......! |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: Blackcatter Date: 05 May 04 - 10:20 PM I got mine 3 years ago, or so. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: open mike Date: 06 May 04 - 12:56 AM ok since you are in teh uk here is the thread that tells how to contact bill sables.http://www.mudcat.org/thread.cfm?threadid=60900#976548 |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: dick greenhaus Date: 06 May 04 - 01:32 AM Yes, Digital Tradition has the same address as CAMSCO--I wear several hats (one for each head.) Shirts (in the US) are available for $15 in red or dark blue. The original denim blue that Max modeled was discontinued because it was deemed to hard to read in many lighting conditions. Patches are available, too: $5.00 |

All that matters is that it's great shirt & I wore it at the National Folk Festival at Easter & will be wearing it at more festivals. sandra |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: GUEST,MMario Date: 06 May 04 - 01:03 PM Mudcat/Digital Tradition t-shirts are a mjor portion of my wardrobe. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: Blackcatter Date: 06 May 04 - 01:05 PM I try to wear it at all the music fests, etc. I go too. I tell people about Mudcat, but most musicians are bemused as to why theywould want to visit the site. How should I be selling it? |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: GUEST,Nigel Parsons Date: 06 May 04 - 01:13 PM T-Shirt thread as above |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: JennyO Date: 06 May 04 - 01:19 PM I got mine (a red one) from Bill Sables too when he was visiting Sydney. A few of us did. It was good for when we arranged mudcatter meetings at the National, as Sandra said. Jenny |

Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: C-flat Date: 06 May 04 - 03:43 PM I'd better get in touch with Bill. I always thought they only came in blue! Good quality shirts. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: Joe_F Date: 06 May 04 - 06:55 PM Nothing smaller than a large! |

Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: Joe_F Date: 07 May 04 - 06:20 PM Dick: Hurray! The Web site is out of date. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 07 May 04 - 06:27 PM Only thing is, my T-shirt is normally under some other garment. In our climate a sweat shirt would be more visible. Though a Mudcat Waistcoat is what I really want. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 07 May 04 - 07:10 PM a waistcoat.... hmmmm |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: Tattie Bogle Date: 07 May 04 - 07:18 PM I got mine from Bill Sables a couple of years ago: they can be an icebreaker when you meet someone else wearing one at a festival. By the way, I forgot to ask the chap from Yorkshire at Sandy Stanage's guitar workshop at Girvan who he was (in Mudcat-speak)cos he was wearing his but I wasn't wearing mine! |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: Sandra in Sydney Date: 08 May 04 - 10:04 AM definitely a Mudcat waistcoat - my Mudcat T-shirt was mostly hidden by my waistcoat. I wear an assortment of waistcoats 365 days a year! but rarely wear a t-shirt (except long-sleeved black ones in winter) or the Mudcat & Roll'n'Go t-stirts which get occasional use at Festivals or Shanty sings. Yes, I certainly could do with a Mudcat waistcoat. sandra (thinking about waistcoats & a well-known silk-screening Mudcatter) |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: Mr Red Date: 08 May 04 - 10:21 AM I have two red ones and just to be a little more distinguishable I have had them emroidered with Mr Red in the banjo circle (in red of course) And Col K can wear his red T shirt all he wants, mine are different. Ngar, ngar, ngar...... |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 08 May 04 - 08:43 PM T-shirts would be good in Queenslands Summer. Actually a *Rainbow Waistcoat with a Mudcat Logo might be fun to attend Folk Events in Winter, especially down south... (*with apologies to Graeme Taylor!) |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 08 May 04 - 09:14 PM Actually, it's just dawned on me (pardon the espression!) that wearing a Rainbow Waistcoat these days may not be a wise idea for a guy like me... :-) I think a plain one would be Robin |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: open mike Date: 09 May 04 - 02:34 AM what's a waistcoat? |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: YorkshireYankee Date: 09 May 04 - 04:08 AM It's what we non-British speakers would call a vest. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 09 May 04 - 05:27 AM ... except what the British call a vest - we Aussies call a singlet... :-) And I personally don't want a Mudcat Singlet, although I can think of a few female folkies who I wouldn't mind seeing in one... ;-) hmmmm... |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: Mr Red Date: 09 May 04 - 04:25 PM er singlet in Uk has no arms, T-shirt does. Oh the common language barrier! |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 09 May 04 - 05:17 PM Here's a picture of a flashy waistcoat. Properly pronounced - and sometimes spelt - "weskit". A waistcoat of some sort is more or less a standard part of national folkie costume in the British Isles. You call them "vests" in the States? That could get confusing. Still it's probably the older term - "vestcoat". |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 09 May 04 - 06:45 PM You would wear a 'singlet' under a 'doublet'... :-) |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: Joe_F Date: 09 May 04 - 07:18 PM "They had pawned their doublets -- they were sitting about in their singlets." -- Michael Flanders N.B. The telephone number on the T-shirt Web site also appears to be out of date. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: Blackcatter Date: 09 May 04 - 07:35 PM Not that it's that big a deal, but people in the U.S. don't wear waistcoats/vest very often. Sweat shirts - and hooded sweats would be nice. How about some boxers and some nice cotton panties for the more intimate Mudcat moments? |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 09 May 04 - 08:11 PM You don't wear waistcoats/vests in the States? Not even the folkies? You learn something every day here. I'd almost as soon go out without my trousers. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 10 May 04 - 12:26 AM AAAGGGHHHHH!!!! ()runs screaming away.... |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: bill\sables Date: 10 May 04 - 04:55 AM Why not buy a flashy waistcoat from some charity shop, there are usually quite a lot of hideous waistcoats used only once for some trendy wedding, and then you could buy an offical Mudcat sew on patch from me for only £3-50. These patches are embroidered in full colour and are about 3 inches round. I still have a quantity of tee shirts in all sizes in the dark blue and extra large in the red. These are £12 including postage. All you need to do is send me a PM for details of payment etc. Cheers Bill |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: GUEST,Raggytash Date: 10 May 04 - 05:09 AM Any chance of a polo shirt instead, some of us look like pipe cleaners in T shirts |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: Sandra in Sydney Date: 10 May 04 - 10:19 AM Bill, I have a friend heading to the UK soon & I might ask her to get me a few patches. I'll PM you for details. sandra |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: dick greenhaus Date: 10 May 04 - 10:21 AM The problem with polo shirts, or sweat shirts, or weskits is that of inventory (both space and money tied up). There are minimum quantities that can be ordered at any time, and easch new product comes in a variety of sizes. Bow, if some folks would like to get together and agree on a product/size I'kk be happy to see what I can do. BTW--the only way we were able to provide red shirts is by attaching that order to an order for more blue ones. THey use the same color printing. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 10 May 04 - 10:38 AM I'm a sober waistcoat man. I mean the waistcoats are sober. I think patches and badges are the most convenient option. Perhaps a paper sticky for guitar cases and suchlike would be handy. Or a sticker for a car, to annoy the people who get apoplectic at the "Baby on Board" ones. "Mudcat on Board" would about finish them off. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat T Shirt From: Mrs.Duck Date: 10 May 04 - 12:20 PM Raggy a plain polo shirt could soon be tarted up with a sew on patch! |
