In chat the other night, Morticia mentioned a tee shirt she has and we all decided we wanted one. Sorcha is making the shirts. They will be violet/dark purple (associated in UK with chocolate) and will say:
Inside this shirt is a Thin Woman trying to get out, but I can usually subdue the Bitch with chocolate."

Cost will be $20 US, which includes shipping to US or UK with $4 each going to Max/Mudcat. Who wants one? Please PM/e mail Sorcha with size and snail address. Sorcha will PM you back with money instructions.

The listed cost is for US/UK. UK is better off doing a "Bank Transfer" for which you will need my routing and account numbers. Inside US personal check or money order will do. PM me for other countries or other info.

Can I just say that a bank transfer may involve a charge which will be about £25 - so I suggest that for those who want one in the UK -liaise with one person who deals with Sorcha sends the transfer and then distributes the shirts in the UK. Volunteers anyone?

Send Sorcha your size and snail address if you haven't already.
If you are in UK/Ireland, send your money to Linda Kelly and she will handle the bank transfer to me.
If you are in US, send money to Sorcha.
I will PM all of you with either my address or Linda's address.
Order deadline is Monday; I will not order/start shirts until I have the money. I am not doing this on spec.

You could also add beer stains for a few dollars more, tho I usually do my own.

The original wording came from a t-shirt that Morticia has. Personally I think it needs the word "bitch" or something similar, because if it doesn't have an insulting word when referring to the "thin" woman trying to get out it loses all impact.

GUEST, I guess it would depend on how many of each type are ordered. The more changes, the more expense to get the T-shirts printed, since each change requires that a separate screen be created (I worked for a while in a T-shirt-screening shop).

Count me in! Sorcha, I'll PM you with my size. I, too, would rather not have my shirt say "bitch", if possible, though I certainly understand the sentiment! If the shirt is available only in "bitch", I'll be uncomfortable with it but I'll still take it; I'll have to be careful where I wear it, though (not to work, nor to family gatherings with the fundies!).

How about inserting asterisks instead of the rude word and then everyone is happy... those who don't like rude words don't get one, and those who don't mind have the inference.

I went back to reread the thread after we PMed back and forth earlier in the week. Yes, the t-shirt can be size medium, but since my highschool age daughter is most likely going to appropriate it, I need to have it say "her" or use LTSs asterisks. Whichever looks better. The kids aren't supposed to wear messages with the originally proposed language at school. And as someone else noted, even if I do get to keep it, there aren't many places down here in the Bible Belt where I could wear it without negative comment.

I've seen purple on the Cadbury wrappers down here in Texas--do we perhaps get our supply from someplace different than the rest of the US?

I was just telling the kids last week (during a discussion of our favorite candy bars) of those Cadbury bars that had six or seven individually filled portions, all together in a common bar. Does anyone else remember those, and do they still make them? There were mostly cream or fruit fillings in the pieces. It was a small bar, individual serving. I'd love it if someone could make a run to the grocery store, just for the novelty to show the kids (of course!). Probably someone in the northern tier of states, or up in Canada. (Of course I'll pay for the bars and the postage.)
