They were Irish American bands from the 30s...and the song seems like one of them. De Danaan seemed to specialise in those. ...And I can't help thinking there ought to be more than two verses and chorus'.....but that's what is on the record because I remember there was a good reel as well. As the song is probably so obscure, it's unlikely there's a "Barney from Killarney" expert out there!!...(or is there??) |

The record has no notes to nay of the songs, but on the record itself at the place where the authors stand this song has 'trad.' (which doesn't mean much as we all know). Wolfgang |
