Subject: BS: recycling cell phones for $ From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 13 May 05 - 12:49 PM In an airline magazine I saw an advertisement from an outfit (Pace Butler) which recycles cell phones. They encourage people to send in the phones to make money for worthy causes. Have any of you ever done this? Did it seem worthwhile? What were your experiences? Thanks |

Subject: RE: BS: recycling cell phones for $ From: Clinton Hammond Date: 13 May 05 - 01:38 PM Sounds like the pop-can tab myths... ANY electronics CAN be recycled by people who wanna bother with the efford of seperating out the valuable bits... It ain't easy though... |

The proceeds are donated to the Bristol Childrens' Hospital (Wallace & Gromit Appeal). Helps a worthy cause, saves natural resources and reduces landfill. We also recycle aluminium cans, PET bottles, plastic cups and paper. It's amazing how much 500 people can get through in a week. |

Subject: RE: BS: recycling cell phones for $ From: Shanghaiceltic Date: 15 May 05 - 02:04 AM Lost a cell phone in a taxi here last year, It was very quickly recycled to a new owner. I have heard of recycling PC's to some poorer countries where they are actually used by tyhe local peopl but not cell phones. |
