My information came from the Royal Marines Reunion website and I felt that,if anybody would, they would get the rank right.

Shrugs shoulders and goes off to continue search for more definitive info.

When Nelson recieved his wound and fell on the Victorys quarterdeck one of the first to come his aid was Royal Marine Sargeant James Secker.

We believe in our family that Sgt Secker was a brother or cousin of one of our ancestors. We havent found any direst evidence of this but he was cerainly from the same part of the world (Norfolk) and was alive at the same time as our ancesor John.

Ah, Lord Nelson.   We still celebrate wars and victories and/or defeats.   Perhaps that is our problem.

On a lighter note---in the Carribean there is a place where they revere good Lord Nelson with his columns---one of the larger phallic symbols around---except for, perhaps, Trafalger Square in London.

All I can say is====whatta guy!

To be so revered with these mighty columns---had he gone to a ripe old age his columns would not have been so tall and so erect.

Phallicly yours,

Bill Hahn

Good one.
BTW, I wouldn't call this a review. A press release, perhaps, but not a review.

Indeed quite a few were Danes, Italians, Greeks, and assorted others, lol.

Great White Hope? Erm...No. There really is no political advantage to this dvd, merely an expression of pride in our history and heritage.

Anyway, my last post on this.

many thanks

David

Quite a few were Danes, not to mention Italians, Greeks, Iberians, Balearians.
If the history in this is of the same standard as on the BNP website, shudders.
What possibly new angle could you have on Nelson? Maybe if you show him as an arrogant, ostentatious, that always knew best.
Forgive me if I don't extend you that credit.
If he comes across as the Great White Hope, the Hero that kept Wogs back in Calais, then you are fuller of it than I thought.

so, wer're expecting this to dwell for quite a while on the quater of the crews who were not British then?

You would commonly expect to find almost any European nationality serving aboard a Royal Navy ship, including the French, and also Americans, Brazilians and West Indians, quite a number of whom, especially the latter were black.

Plus, the whole thing was paid for with a finacial system borrowed from the Dutch.

So all in all, another triumph for the White, British working class then?

Upto you mate. It is an historical event that has attention focused on it. Take it or leave it. I love History.

BNPtv launches Nelson DVD

    19th October 2005

News article filed by BNP news team

England Expects: With Nelson to Victory

The BNP's very own television and video production operation, BNPtv, is pleased to announce its second DVD title has been edited, pressed and now in stock.

Following in the wake of the debut DVD "EastEnded", a history of the white working class communities of London's East End, the new DVD is fittingly a documentary of Nelson. The 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar occurs on Friday 21st with celebrations taking place across the country and the DVD "England Expects" is the BNP's own tribute to the foremost in a long line of British naval heroes.

It is a celebration of his life, timed to coincide with the 200th anniversary of his death at the moment of his greatest glory, the Battle of Trafalgar. Made on location across England and following in Nelson's footsteps to the places with which he was most familiar, the film is presented by Nick Griffin and Eddy Butler, and also features Jonathan Bowden.

Buy it from Excalibur here.         http://www.bnp.org.uk/shopping/merchandise/item.php?id=547

A short clip can be viewed here.
