John Cale does a splendid cover version on the Cohen tribute CD: 'I'm Your Fan: The Songs of Leonard Cohen' Atlantic 82349-2.

You're probably talking about "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen. It has gained a lot of attention from the the animated movie "Shrek".

James Cale sang the version in the movie, although Rufus Wainright does it on the soundtrack CD. Jeff Buckley does a beautiful version on his "Grace" CD. I learned it from a performance by Sheryl Crow, who got it from the Buckley CD.

Don't really have a clue what you are talking about, but could it be the "Hallelujah Chorus" from Handels' Messiah? "Halleluja, halleluja, Haaaaa-laaaaay-lu--ya"?

What is the name of the song that is being played as part of soundtracks, etc., a lot lately, that has a refrain "Hallelujah, hallelujah" repeated? It's a love song. Any tips would be appreciated.
