I'm not sure what the Mudcat protocol is for exposing things for sale, so I apologise if it's verboten.

I've got an Ovation 1111 Balladeer, which, according to the Ovation website could be late 60s or late 70s. (I find the explanation on the Ovation site for pinpointing the age of a guitar ambiguous. Is it the 4-digit model number, or the 6-digit serial number that identifies its year of manufacture?). I've had it since '85.

Also, L/H 1992 John Hullah, smallish body. It couldn't accurately be called a 000-28 because another manufacturer owns that trademark, but coincidentally it's the same size and shape and made from the same timbers.

And a L/H Telecaster, Japanese '62 re-issue, sunburst, bound edge.

They're all in good condition, although the Ovation could do with new machine heads, which I'll fit.

Do I ask for PMs expressing interest, or are you just going to send me to e-Bay?

I would say, good that you offered (no pun intended) here first, but your real market will be ebay.
Let it run here until it falls off the bottom, then if that happens ebay.
Skipy.

My apologies, Jon, cookie gone walkabout so no PM when I last checked. Have reset things, picked up your message, and PM reply imminent.

Hi MP, if you're still reading, no I did not sell it, and yes I'd still be willing to discuss selling it.

I haven't been around here much recently so don't know if the PM thing still works, but please give it a try if you're still interested. Failing that I'll try to check back regularly, and hopefully we'll catch up.

If anyone else knows MP, by all means point him/her in this direction.

Thanks

Here's something to try if you're a right-handed tenor-banjo/mandolin player: get a left-handed guitar, and hold it as you would a right-handed guitar. The first four strings from the bass E upwards are the same as a tenor-banjo or a mandolin. Not the same gauge or octave of course, but you you can play reels and jigs and other melodies as if it were a banjo or a mandolin, and I have to tell you: if you're hitting the notes correctly, it sounds like shit!

Brendan, I'm terribly sorry, I found an amp that made the Tele sound great, so it's back in regular use!

Anyone seen MP knocking about? Nice Hullah fingerpicker with his or her name on it sitting here.
