Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Clues and Nudges From: Helen Date: 13 Nov 06 - 06:34 PM You're being very mysterious, Secret Santa. I'm trying to read between the lines and work out what the "HeHeHe" could mean. It tends to make me interpret it as mischievous glee, but maybe I'm just getting paranoid. Do I need to be paranoid??!! No, of course not! Silly me! :-) Helen |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Clues and Nudges From: Hollowfox Date: 13 Nov 06 - 08:17 PM Ahhh, at last! I got your card on Saturday. My dear SS, I've never gotten a pre-Christmas hint by post before. It's a lovely card, so my hints are that you live in England, and have good taste in notepaper. Well, that narrows it down a bit... |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Clues and Nudges From: artbrooks Date: 13 Nov 06 - 10:01 PM Santa? You out there Santa? Haven't heard from you lately...... |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Clues and Nudges From: Selchie - (RH) Date: 14 Nov 06 - 09:49 AM Dear RS Santa, Your hints have me thinking, giving me answers, maybe all wrong ones. It's so nice to read your straightforward, helpful clues. I'm still perplexed AND enjoying it. However! To return to the Mummers, the Turkish Knight's lad, maybe a mummer who's not a lad? And those I know who could be bold ~ well I suppose so, but are they heroes? And Shellbacks know OF you & I know OF you, I wonder where from & how? In an unusual team you are ~ well yes, but ~ isn't most of Folk, Morris & Mumming unusual? So what else could it be? I'll be pondering more on those clues. Yes, I did change my name, & am now officially a seal person on Mudcat. I'm searching PM's & posts for a hint of whom I talked to & when? I'll never recall all those I'd talked to at Festivals & Gatherings. Confused it is that I am. Meanwhile I am being very good, behaving so well & watching out for your spies ~ SPIES! SPIES! ~ I'll make mince pies of THEM ~ IF I catch them. But if they're helping my Really Superb Santa & giving good reports, that's OK ~ I'll be lenient. It's uncanny, you seem to know much, so I'm sure you can't be far away, or are you? Maybe you're just very canny? I'm so looking forward to finding out who my RS Santa is. I'm trying to be very, very patient & wait for the festive season. I've already been down so many avenues, clues leading me to weird & wonderful conclusions about your identity. Time for more hints please, to keep this little seal person happy. Rosie xxxxx |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Clues and Nudges From: GUEST,Emma B's Still Shopping Santa Date: 16 Nov 06 - 10:58 AM So, Emma, just what can I find for you? Do people in Cheshire need coal, or should I perhaps pop a pair of longjohns in the post? I'm fairly sure cheese is not on your Must Have list -- not that it travels well. Cats? Would you like a cat -- or do you already have enough grins at your house? |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Clues and Nudges From: Emma B Date: 16 Nov 06 - 11:05 AM Hello Santa dear - we meet at last! Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Clues and Nudges From: GUEST,An admonishment from Sec Santa of Sandra in Date: 16 Nov 06 - 07:56 PM Dear Sandra, I, being Santa, am of course very experienced in sending pressies all over the globe and a few other places! However, the person who POSTED the pressie package to you got nervous about it's actually getting to you across the ocean, and put our names, and place of shipping and all sorts of incriminating things on the declaration, etc. SO, since pressies are already arriving (or so I learn from the Mudcat) Please 1. don't yet reveal the sender's ID, and 2. Please don't open until Christmas or your designated pressie-opening holiday!! Much cheer!! ~~ Your Secret Santa |

Glad you liked the card, it does have a little hint on it. So you think I'm in England? Well, close I'll admit, but look a little closer at the card and tell me ~ what's in a name? I'm busy gathering gifts and goodies, thinking of treats I hope you'll enjoy and some you'll find interesting and informative. Soon to be sealed up and posted to you. With love for now, Your SS xx |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Clues and Nudges From: Sandra in Sydney Date: 17 Nov 06 - 08:56 PM Hello, wonderful Santa I'll ask my neighbour who shares my post box to collect any parcel & CROSS OUT incriminating details. Tho he is so forgetful it might be better to open my door with a big black marker pen in hand, & avert my eyes while he scribbles on the parcel. I prefer to save my pressies for the day - tho I don't put them under my tree as said tree is only 6" tall & always surrounded by lotsa' tiny little decorations. Last week I bought 3 cake decorations - Bambi, Santa in chimney & Santa in sleigh. It's almost time to get the tree & decorations out! sandra (who really must send her Santee's pressie soon) |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Clues and Nudges From: GUEST,Jaze's BBB&B *****Santa***** Date: 18 Nov 06 - 12:19 AM Hello Jaze, I have sent your package with a trusty Elf, it is on its way, so provided Trusty Elf doesn't get waylaid by the Christmas Tree fairy you should have it soon. If your parcel has a light sprinkling of fairy dust you will know that Trusty Elf wasn't quite able to resist a little dalliance on the way. It's so hard to get good help these days........sign........ Best wishes from Your Bedazed, Bedazzled, Bedazzling and very Befuddled *****Santa***** |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Clues and Nudges From: GUEST,GUEST,Micca's far away Secret Santa Date: 19 Nov 06 - 07:07 AM Good day oh Wiccan one Have you received any more postcards? Tales of your exploits in the New World have travelled far and wide, and so has your present, which is, at this moment, in the process of being delivered by a very special elf. |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Clues and Nudges From: CapriUni Date: 19 Nov 06 - 03:57 PM Dear not so-secret-santa: If that Selkie comes by again, give her the finest fish you can find, on me. Your package arrived just this last Thursday, barely a week after you handed it over. 'Course Selkies are magical, so they probably have a hotline right to flying reindeer headquarters, or something... |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Clues and Nudges From: maeve Date: 19 Nov 06 - 06:35 PM Dear Marvellous Maeve's Silent Santa, I have enjoyed my three, count 'em, three, lovely postcards. I have indeed been to see the mysterious White Horse once, years ago, with my father. He's been gone over a year now, and your postcard brought back so many good memories! Thank you! As to my preferred package opening time, we usually wait until Christmas morning. In our families, though, presents occasionally find their way to us several days/weeks after the Day itself, and we enjoy the extended celebration. So no worries if your overworked elves need to mail some little thing a bit late! Thank you again for the cards, maeve |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Clues and Nudges From: GUEST,Dusty's Parapatetic Santa Date: 19 Nov 06 - 08:06 PM Well ya know chum, this is a busy time of year for me. I have to get all over the place to make sure that all the boy and girls are being good...or, if they're not, that they have their stories all in place. The problem I'm having is that, since there isn't any snow in Oz this time of year, the reindeer are asking for extra pay to go down there - something about an environmental hazard differential, whatever the heck that is. I could barely get them as far south as Florida without paying off the lazy buggers! Not only that, I can't find my red short-sleeved shirt and knee britches, and the dratted elves sent my sandals out to the cobbler gnomes to be resoled...something about a good deal on tyre treads this time of year. But, we'll figure something out. |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Clues and Nudges From: GUEST,FU's SS Date: 22 Nov 06 - 09:19 AM Santa Clues, you've been very quiet - not as quiet as some Santas I could name! Nine days ago you were "in treegued" and "being very good": within the hour (or eight or nine anyway) I regaled you with random (albeit untintentionally anonymous) ramblings on gum trees and goodness. "No answer" was the stern reply so, like the telegraph boy with his nose turned up, I cycled sadly away into the slowly sinking septentrional sunset. More than a week passed and still no stirrings from my previously prolix Piscean Proserpine - could she be hibernating? Surely not, for although winter is here, it is not there. And the odd post for others kept appearing from her, giving birthday greetings and feliciations, but not giving an unripe fig for her poor Santa waiting patiently for a word. :-( But fear not, o haughty Helen of Hadean habitats, my time has not been idly spent: even now a small package is winging its way to my subterranean sojourner, a token to be displayed on the occasions when Persephone proudly parades in the serene sunlight of summery southern climes. A proclamation geographical rather than chronological from your santa. Or is he/she/it just an old windbag? And the main package is ready for assembly and onward dispatch in the care of the boomers. Santa Clues x |
