What pray tell, does this case have to do with anti-Semitism? And to what purpose would anyone raise that canard in a discussion of it?

BTW, the position of president in Israel is essentially ceremonial with no real political power; much like that of governor general in Canada.

Israel's former President Moshe Katsav has been convicted of rape by a court in Tel Aviv and could go to jail for 4 years, no doubt he will escape prison.

He was found guilty of raping an employee in the 1990s when he was tourism minister and of later sexual offences while he was president.

Because any time anybody says anything critical of anything having to do with Israel, they are eventually (usually sooner than later) accused of antisemitism. This was an attempt to stave off the eventuality.

The reason I said that is because I have defended Israel for years on this site, and I have also written to the Israelis admonishing their approach to certain situations involving Jordanians and Palestinians. I suspect the same cannot be said of you. It was not chest-thumping. Simple fact which once again proves you see very little.
