Hi fellow Mudcatters

I usually stay away from this type of thread but I feel that I must comment on the above,

I think Mudcat is a tremendous asset to the Tradition. I visit almost every day and I learn lots, I get lyrics, airs and tunes, background information, valuable insights into the history of songs, singing and singers etc. etc. Its priceless and its free.

I have made good friends here and I have had some memorable laughs.

I want to thank Max and the Clones and all the people involved for the trojan unpaid work they do to keep this valuable resource going, despite the constant attacks it comes under from both without and within.

Thanks you for Mudcat warts and all.

Fergus Russell

The Mudcat is under fire !!

Wouldn't the appropriate song by Bod Dylan at this time be "A Hard Rains Gonna Fall'

"And what did you hear, my darling young one?
I heard the sound of a thunder, it roared out a warnin',
Heard the roar of a wave that could drown the whole world,
Heard one hundred drummers whose hands were a-blazin',
Heard ten thousand whisperin' and nobody listenin',
Heard one person starve, I heard many people laughin',
Heard the song of a poet who died in the gutter,
Heard the sound of a clown who cried in the alley,
And it's a hard, and it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard,
And it's a hard rain's a-gonna fall."

That's interesting, Clinton, because it's probably (or at least debatably) the most brilliant song Dylan wrote in his entire life. The lyrics in that song are simply incredible, specially considering his age at the time. It's the ultimate social comment song.

Looks like you've got it under control to me ...

... control ...

Impressed by her gaze, and wondering what it was that was in his direction that she was looking at, he moved around behind the back of the guitar performance stool and pulled his chain mail down over his bottom.

Thank god he had found the chain mail in the nick of time. His previous idiom of camouflaged jean claude van-damme-esque jungle warrior simply was not well enough clothed to handle this ... vision of ... erm ... loveliness?

The Iron codpiece was unfortunately a few sizes too small and sank loosely and inneffectively from his waist like a rowing boat full of uncomfortable hippos.

He drew his trusty portrait and waited for the inevitable onslaught.

I want to know what Nurse Ratched is going to do next. . .

Turning her impressive gaze in the direction of the churlish youngish-middle-agish-man in chain mail, leaning on a custom guitar performance stool, she took a step toward him, enema rod in one hand, syringe in the other. . .

Another three swings of what exactly?

Look, I'll buy if you play "It's Allright, Ma" all the way through and do a really good job on it. But I'll only buy one (drink) for you.

I wouldn't doubt that my perceptions of others on the Net are frequently off the mark, and I think that's something you and I probably share in common. ;-) Neither one of us is omniscient.

suddenly the surface of the water broke and lox emerged gasping for breath ...

... his muscles glinted in the half light and bulged and clenched in ecstatic agony as he grasped for the nearest overhanging vine ...

... The gash across his left cheek looked pretty nasty, but he didn't even know it was there ... It was just a flesh wound ... all in a days work for an action hero of his calibre ...

... He wiped nanobot slime from his armpits - what a strange discovery that human BO was the most effective way to subdue them. And he had thought at first that his attemp to put them in headlocks was the last ditch futile attempt of a desperate soul with no other options available ...

... "well ... that'll teach those varmints to come round here again" ... he thought,

... before collapsing in a heap on the river bank and waiting for the reception committee of mudcat nymphs to transport him back to safety ... there they would tend to him ...

The attack started even earlier. I killed off the first one and then a dozen or so more about 8:40. I had to leave before 9 to make an appointment and had to run before I could be of much more help.

First off, don't try to horn in on my status as the fat clone. LOL.

Second, it's alright. I got this deleting posts thing down to a science because of all the practice I get. Just ask Rog. We cleaned them out in a hurry. You get the next batch. Mudelf, the Huge and Magnificent.

Shaneo, there are very few of these. Two of them posted above. In Clinton's case, I am just tired of his ridiculing people, and his constant bitching about how the Mudcat is a second class forum. In Shambles case, you only need go read his "closed threads and deleted posts" thread to understand why folks are nasty. In both cases, it doesn't take long to figure out why folks don't care for either one of them.

You post and don't worry about it. When Clinton tells you to get a life, or points out why this isn't a decent board, feel free to tell him to bugger off or ask him why he spends so much time here. With Roger, exposure to him will help you figure him out. He is a little more seductive in his approach, but a full fledged troll nonetheless.
