Hitler "stayed the course". He never allowed any of his troops to "cut and run"...and that is how he stupidly lost entire armies at places like Stalingrad, Tunisia, Normandy, East Prussia, etc...

It's one of the best ways to court absolute disaster when you've made intially poor or unrealistic military decisions. Bush obviously does not grasp that simple truth.

He's afraid that if he pronounced "nuclear" properly he'd lose the support of most of his constituency. It is my experience that very few Americans can pronounce the word "nuclear" properly...specially those who like it when the USA goes abroad and "kicks ass" in some small foreign country.

Just as an aside, there are very few who can pronounce "February" properly too. I wonder how Mr Bush says it?

No country has a monopoly on ignorance.

But the President of the United States HAS to have advisors who can point out his ongoing mistake, doesn't he? So he's obviously pronouncing it wrongly (and it IS wrong) on purpose. And that is stupid and stubborn.
