I have tried but the closest I can come is "You see"

so how close did I get?

(it is on the Poozies CD "Danzoozies" Bay Tree set middle tune.)

Looks like that's it.

In Irish Gaelic "An bfhaca sibh" means Did you (plural) see - so I think you're close enough.

I'd venture that "Did you (plural) see?" might be closer.

Yea the sites I found said more than "faca sibh" to "mean did you see" perhaps with an Am in front. Maybe this is a Scots (Hebredes) dialect.

But like the French say "come ce" as dimminutive of "come ce come ca" perhaps this is formal verses colloquial/lyrical

In Scottish Gaelic, Faca Sibh seems to translate to "Have you seen"

In Scots Gaelic, I feel the phrase rather implies a once-of event so

'did you (pl) see?'

rather than ''have you seen?', but a lot will depend on the context.

The specific context is the song sung by the Poozies et al.

If anyone has knowledge of the song as well as speaking Gaelic - I would be greatful of elucidation - but I am obviously close to "seeing" it.

not sure this is the same song but it does rather put the Scots Gaelic as "Have you seen" - getting nearer.

But all comments welcome
TIA
