From: Little Hawk

We have seen a steady evolution of the popular Bush model from the days of the British Empire when ancestral scions of the Bush family helped shoulder the white man's burden in an expanding empire....to Prescott Bush, who sold war materials to the Nazis in WWII...to George H.W. Bush, who overcame the "wimp factor" by illegally invading Panama and then having a big, glorious whoopass military campaign in the Middle East in 1991, thus saving nonexistant Kuwaiti babies in nonexistant incubators from ravening Saddamites! (Whew...heady stuff indeed.)

Some would declare the George H.W. model of 1991 the best Bush ever. But is that really true?

Not content to rest on their laurels, designers and developers of the ever-popular Bush line brought forward a new and updated George W. Bush model (dropping the "H" option) in 2000. It was felt that the new, more streamlined Bush 2000 would serve as flagship to carry the line triumphantly into the 21st century.

Since then the Bush 2000 has had its ups and downs, navigating its way through the perilous twists and turns of inadequately funded roadway, suffering the occasional breakdown, pretzel attack, and flat tire, but nevertheless persevering in spite of all obstacles.

Is it time yet to retire the famed George W. Bush model and replace it with something even better? Is the classic Cheney-drive transmission still cutting edge or does it need to be retired as well? There have been rumors of a brand new model in the works...the "Jeb Bush". The Jeb model has been undergoing testing trials on the grueling Florida circuit and appears to be a peppy machine with definite promise. We may yet hear a great deal more about it, but is it ready yet to officially serve as flagship of the Bush line?

Some say that it will take at least 4 more years before the Jeb Bush model has all the kinks worked out and will be ready to present to the public at the BIG RACEWAY.

If that is so, we may see a brief resurgence of the once highly competitive Clinton line of classic family sedans in the interim...or even a surprising move into first position by the sleek and sporty new Obama. Either way, it would be deeply disappointing to those of us who have grown accustomed to romping and roving at the controls of a Bush.

The ONLY way to improve the basic Bush model is to scrap it.

Probably uses less gas that way too...more economical.

But will that go over well with the luxury class buyers?

Most women probably would not want a Burning Bush.

For that matter, thinking about it, neither would I.

, USA (RCP, USA), known originally as the Revolutionary Union, is a Maoist-oriented communist party formed in 1975 in the United States. The RCP states that U.S. imperialism will never peacefully change and that the only way for the oppressed masses to ever liberate themselves is through waging a people's war and building a new socialist society on the ashes of capitalism.

Following the re-election of George W. Bush, the RCP released a statement called "The Battle for the Future". It calls Bush a Christian Fascist and calls on the masses to resist. The document also puts forward Bob Avakian as the party's leader. Several supporters of the RCP initiated a campaign entitled World Can't Wait: Drive Out the Bush Regime to facilitate a political "re-polarization" around the current right-wing shift in U.S. government. Hundreds of protests and rallies, as well as disruption of prominent governmental speakers has ensued. Most recently, World Can't Wait organized a series of nationwide protests on October 5, 2006.

In 2005, the RCP changed the name of its newspaper from "Revolutionary Worker" to "Revolution." According to their website, the May 1, 2005 issue of RW newspaper signaled the end of 25 years of Revolutionary Worker/Obrero Revolucionario and the beginning of Revolution/Revolucion. "We believe that the new name more fully reflects our revolutionary communist ideology and politics, and the enriched vision of a tribune of the people that has been pioneered by RCP Chairman Bob Avakian."

In late 2005 and early 2006 the RCP launched the Revolutionary Communist Speaking Tour, designed to, in the words of its blog header, "build a communist movement among the people locked on the bottom of society in the current era of Bushite Christian-fascism."...

No kidding, eh, Dickey? That's interesting...and amusing.

We have a tiny little Communist Party here in Canada too...and I do mean tiny. I think they had some kind of disagreement on policy a few decades ago and fractured into 2 even tinier little Communist Parties, but I'm not sure about what they call themselves. They have never elected anyone and they never will. They command a sliver of the vote so small that it will never even show up on a graph anywhere.

Anyone being in a Communist Party in either the USA or Canada in the present era is analagous to someone being in a Reformed Baptist Party in Saudi Arabia or a "White Supremacy" Party in Japan or Botswana. (har! har!) It's just a pathetically hopeless proposition from day one guaranteed to achieve absolutely nothing, but some people are attracted, like Don Quixote, into being "a voice in the wilderness" and taking on an impossible task.

I knew a young guy in the 90's who only liked musicians that no one else in his age group was interested in. He was crazy about Hank Williams, for example. No one else his age listens to Hank Williams.

You see, he simply HAD to like something that no one else he knew appreciated or even knew about, because that made him feel like he knew something that they didn't! It's very special when you feel that way. I think that's what it would be like to belong to the Communist Party in the USA or Canada. Your special brand of uniqueness would be guaranteed to remain unsullied forever by the vulgar smell of either success or general acceptance. What could be more perfect than that? ;-)

By the way, regarding Canada's Communist Party...there's one exception which I overlooked in my post above, and it occurred 60 years ago:

When the Communist Party of Canada was banned in 1941, it refounded itself as the Labour-Progressive Party (LLP). Only one LPP Member of Parliament (MP) was elected under that banner, Fred Rose, who was elected in a 1943 by-election in Montreal and sat in the House of Commons. In 1947, he was charged and convicted for spying for the Soviet Union, and was expelled from the House of Commons.

End of flippin' story, eh? ;-)

I believe there's not much that can be dne in the way of improvements. The Bush clan has hit it's apex with the twin daughters of Duba. Jenna & Barb are as good as it gets. They are following the family tradition though & the trail of alchol trail continues here. along with their family values

"simply HAD to like something that no one else he knew appreciated or even knew about"

Did he wear blue jeans too - well we ALL did, just to be individuals...

As in 'Life of Brian' "We are all individuals!"

The Aussie Communist Party was the cause of great political business - there was an attempt to outlaw it, a referendum, and all that. It eventually fell apart - they felt that they had been betrayed by the Russian and Chinese Communists..... :-)

The conventional argument has been that Jeb Bush must run in 2008, because if he doesn't run and whoever else the Republicans barf up does win, Jeb can't run until 2016 'cause he can't go up against an incumbent Republican President in 2012. Problem is that the Bush name has become such an onus that he'd never stand a chance. Best Jeb can hope for is a Democratic win in 2008, a lackluster four years under Hillary, Obama, or whoever, and the gullibility of the US populace when he repeatedly says, "I'm nothing like my brother!" between now and then.

No, Foolsetroupe, he wore black. All black. He probably even had black underwear. He was emulating another one of his heroes, Johnny Cash. He was also crazy about Stompin' Tom Connors and he had every Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, and Stompin' Tom record ever made. But get this: in no sense whatsoever was he a typical "country music" type of person. Not in the least. Far from it. He wrote weird avante-garde modern poetry, smoked the odd cigar, was into fine wines, and adopted a style which I think could best be described as romantic/tragic modernist urban poet. If it had been the 1950s instead of the 1990s, he would have made the perfect wacky beatnik performance artist, hanging out at the coffeehouses and performing poetry that was largely incomprehensible but very, very cool.

He was also a born-again Christian, and he liked the band "Dead Can Dance" and had a thing for Leonard Cohen and Tom Waites too.

He put on 3 plays about Hank Williams in this town, and starred in all of them. He also ran for city council once, but didn't make it.

His initiative and determination in putting on the plays, by the way, was impressive. He was a man with a mission, and he gave it 100% every time. I was in a couple of those plays, and it was a lot of fun.

Barry-

What a scary family chart! Did you add the hair curlers and the mustache?

I really think the current Bush model should be recalled, sent back to Halliburton (wherever they are nowadays) and scraped. However, I doubt if there is even a single part worth recycling.
