Fuckin' commercials and ads! Does every square foot of the planet have to have a logo or advert on it? 10 minutes of TV program and a 12 minute commercial break... I can barely follow the puck on the hockey game for all the logos and billboards on the damn rink. Have the ref blow a gratuitous icing call because it's time for a commercial. After years of viewing, it's getting so I can't concentrate on anything for longer than 10 minutes before I need a commercial break to rest my brain (subliminal suggestion, begin; the grey matter is vulnerable now!) I pay for the cable channels but apparently I still need the logo in the corner of the screen to let me know what I'm watching. And who drops 30 large on a vehicle because the commercial says I can drive around town singing along to the radio in my new overpriced ride which depreciated in value 40% when i drove it off the lot?

I ain't got none. Between the P-Vine's endless "honey-do" list, remodeling my house, runnng a coffee house music series, playing music and sitting on not one, but two, danged *blue-haired-old-lady* committtees in Leesburg, I ain't got no time! None!

But worser than than, what really gripes me is that ya can't hear no decent music on the radio anymore unless it's thru the pudder! Nope, the air waves ain't worth the surfin'. Might as well throw that danged radios in the trash. And television ain't far behind...

But sometimes a thread will get refreshed months, even YEARS later to repeat identical information.

People who do that oughta get a good kick right where it hurts!

My beef hasn't changed for a long while. Folks who don't have the time, or can't bother to read ALL the posts before contributing. Going over stuff that's already been discussed, implies that the people who have taken the time to read and comment, needen't have bothered. It happens a lot.

I'll tell you what really gets me though. College. Those of you in Mudchat will already know my gripe about that!! They mess me around way too much!!!
First I get told that the College Production is going ahead early April.
Then I get told that one of the venues has cancelled.
Then I get told it's going to be postponed cos we're not ready.
Then we get told it's not going ahead at all cos people have dropped out.
Then we get told that it is going ahead with replacements.
THEN we get told that it's not!
THEN we get told that we're filming it. It's getting stupid!! AND we've got our Devised Drama exam during half term, AND we've got loads of essays, tests, rehearsals, coursework, etc, etc, etc to do!! At this rate they'll have the whole cast dropping out of the Production from exhaustion!!!!

Another thing that gets me is when people whinge incessantly. There's a guy at college who does that. I punched him the other day!! I'm usually quite calm, but I lost it and belted him one!!

You really shouldn't have started this thread! I've got tons more to complain about, but I'm going to resist the temptation....

And as for buses!!! The number of times the timetable has been rejigged in the year so far!! I'm surprised I haven't missed more of them!!

And I hate narrow minded people who reckon their opinion is law and nobody else's counts. One of my lecturers is like that. He'll ask a question and ask your opinion on something, and then, when you've said everything you want to say about what you think, he'll turn round and say "Yes, well, really you should think this, this, this, and this." He's just asked my opinion on the subject!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course, I also stopped paying attention to Cher when she and Sonny broke up, long before he transmogrified into a politician. Hats? I always take mine off...figure if I didn't, my mother would come in through one door and my old drill sergeant through the other, and I don't think I could handle that. I really, really dislike people who talk in languages other than American in elevators, under the impression that they're carrying on a private conversation because no one else is intelligent enough to understand. If the subject is that private, then go somewhere private to talk about it! Otherwise, speak the language of the country you're living in! Or at least a facsimile thereof!

People who think grammar is not necessary, spelling is strictly inventive, and sentence structure is an old wives' tale. Actually, thanks to those people, you keep me in proofreading work, boring as it is!

Billboards that flaunt "it's" when the word should be "its" and vice versa! Books, ditto. Newspapers, ditto.

People who have the temerity to censor Shakespeare, for God's sake! (My high school English teacher, for one.) And the ones who attempt, through meaningless and repetitive argument, to change my opinion on politics, religion, or any other damned thing I don't want to argue about.

Just soent some time with one of my frineds whoes only crime is to have a Masters Degree and he has been trying to get a Wes Ginny drivin' license for the last 6 monhtds. Been to the DMV 8 times and every time they find some arbitrary reason fir denying him a driving license??????

Rant;
I do not like lawnchairs at a concert. The ones that are right up to the stage. The ones that keep you from dancing up front. The ones that are placed right up to the stage and no-one is even sitting in them, but saving a place for later. The ones that are taking up space for two people and in the way when the late dancers decide to get off their asses and dance.
Sometimes I don't care for the people sitting in these chairs either. The ones that don't even tap a toe and look bored out of their brains but looking so smug that they have a lawnchair right up front. The ones that throw shit at you if your in their way, because they can't see in their nice little lawnchair, boring, lazy seats.
The thing I don't like most of all, is realizing that I am not getting any younger, and maybe would consider a lawnchair for myself one of these years! Oh Lordy, Lordy, please let me keep on dancing!

I am speaking of course of Madonna, who now adds the children's author string to her -- bow, saying she couldn't find any books about values, and like, they aren't about anything.

Then there are the teenage girls who, like, have to say, like, "like" between every, like, four or five other, like, words they, like, say, because, like, they are insecure? Ditto, kat. Although my latest experience of this probably had a lot to do with not going out of my way far enough to ensure my words expressed my intentions clearly. My few months of experience on the Cat have taught me many things - and that's one of them. So thank you all for the education!

I've come to understand that posting on a discussion forum is much like performing a piece of music in public. Difficult pieces of music require much practice and preparation before they are fit for a public hearing, if justice is to be done to the music at all, and the performer cares about their reputation as a musician.

It's the same with posts on the Cat - man can a lot of godawful wrong notes result if the message is inadequately prepared! Hurtsa my ears, to say the least!

Anyway, that's my not-quite-a-rant for today - sorry about the drift and thanks for listening!
