in 1983.. there was a big event/demonstration in the desert in central australia. over 800 women from all over australia went und camped under the stars, near Uluru and Pine Gap, an american military base.

we camped for a few days, walked the road through the desert and on 11th November stormed the military installation. and after a blockade by police, we broke through, broke down the gate, and 111 women entered the military base.. 111 women were arrested and all gave their names as Karen Silkwood.

i tell this tale because of the which hair comment. a very enterprising group of around 20 men went and formed a camp nearby, ostensibly to politically "support" the women in their endeavours.. One very bald but enthusiastic man visited the camp every day, and kindly let me and other women know that baldness is a sign of massive virility, and that he could be very supportive if required.

didn't find out first hand, but a friend did, and it was true..

The researchers (I love it that people make a profession researching this stuff!) report that the shape of a male backside is as powerful a visual "releaser" for women as the shape of breasts is for men, despite their observation that in general women are less visually "wired" than men.

I don't really remember any jeanclad male behinds that made an impression - the men that get my full attention are generally showing a lot of skin. Not a great fan of Kevin Costner, for example, but I quite liked seeing his naked behind in Dances With Wolves. Loved Brendan Fraser dancing about in a loincloth in George of the Jungle - talk about eye candy! Hubba Hubba! Quite fond of Kevin Sorbo in his Hercules getup. Arnold Schwarzenegger nude in the opening scene of Terminator 3, on the other hand, was strangely repellent, so don't think I just start slavering over any old naked man...

Why do you assume women are looking for the genitalia? Myself, I like cute butts and skinny hips. Lots of actors fit that category. So do lots of men on the street. Tight jeans are good but not so tight that they look uncomfortable. I like jeans, generally. Something very sexy about a man in jeans. I think it makes them appear as if they can actually endure physical labour.

I wonder - has anyone ever done a serious thesis or dissertation on the psychology of the species' fascination with male genitalia. It's been a very long time since I read Freud. Thought he was a bit goofy then and still do, but he did make a successful career off penile fascination.

I happened to become well acquainted with the sister of Tom Jones' "traveling ladyfriend" all the years the wife stayed at home, and she had quite the tales of the trousers. I know ladies used to be sewn into their dresses but am told, by one who sounds as if she knows, that he was sewn into his trousers before performances.

A friend of mine once appeared in a Corrida for amareurs. When he expressed dismay at how small his "basket" was, compared to the others, the dresser told him to do the same thing they did. Use more paper towels. I'll bet this applies to rock stars, too.

A cop goes undercover as a gay guy to catch someone who has been murdering gays. He really gets into the character and it makes him feel very uncomfortable. Not one of my favorites and if I recognize the name of the movie I will never watch it again. Very low budget type of movie. The pants were damn tight though. Might even have had a couple of holes in the seat too.

I was sitting in a restaurant once with my brother when this girl walked by. Her jeans were not only tight but drawn up so far between the cheeks that the seam had to be riding on her tailbone. It looked thoroughly uncomfortable. I registered it in astonishment then looked at my brother who was gazing at me in bemusement. I wondered what you would think, he said.

This was a good 20 years ago. Now, of course, the opposite gender is doing the opposite thing- their back seams are hanging down by their knees. The other day a friend told me that she watched this boy teen running ahead of her- with one hand in back of him holding up his jeans so he could run. People are the funniest thing around.

I recall my younger sister buying very tight new jeans in the late 1960s. They were a real chore for her to get on (according to her). I guess, because they were a size or two small. THEN, she would wear them and get into a hot bath, soak for a while and let them dry on her. I didn't really notice the effect because she was my sister. However, one of her girl friends certainly got my complete and undivided attention. Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any of us who came of age while watching 70s rock bands have seen their share of snake & eggs (the male version of camel-toe) on tons of rock stars.
