Well the long and short. Anyone carrying a weapon is obligated to avoid an situation that would require its use. First lesson taught in gun training. You use it, you will be charged with murder till they sort it out. He was carrying, he needed to stay in the car and let the cops handle it. Just cause you are carrying ya can't walk around a drug neighborhood in an inner city with twenties sticking out of your pocket so you can use your weapon. You are duty bound to avoid that stuff. It is legal to carry a firearm in a bar, but no one I know that would go into a bar with a weapon. Ya just don't do it. That thing is to be used only to save a life, your own or others in a situation you cannot avoid

For example, the witness who, said at the time, that when she came out of her house, after the shot, Zimmerman was astride Martin.

She has miraculously vanished from the proceedings, while all effort seems to be aimed at proving the opposite.

Zimmerman acknowledged that he got over Martin after the shot, so this is not in contention.

And it is significant, that it was in Florida that this man thought he had a right to ignore advice and deliberately put himself in confrontation.

Trayvon Martin had no such choice. He went on an innocent mission to buy sweets and a drink, and was stalked by a man who was larger than him.

Would you turn your back to walk away in those circumstances? I would not, and I live in the UK where guns are very rare, but a piece of lead pipe can do almost as much damage.

When a friend of mine and I were out "plinking" one afternoon (wooded area with a good backstop), I fired a 9 mm. bullet into a 5 ½ inch tree trunk from about eight feet out, with my Smith & Wesson Model 39 9 mm. automatic, and the bullet went clear through the tree trunk, leaving a gaping hole on the far side of the tree.

Where the bullet wound up, I have no idea, except that it couldn't go far because of the bluff-side about thirty feet behind the tree.

One of the problems with a 9 mm. is that it generally goes right through the person being fired at and winds up God knows where!

Things haven't changed all that much except the rednecks have learned where and where not to use the n-word... Here in North Carolina schools are being re-segregated... Like other southern states laws are being put in place to make it harder for black folks to vote... Black folks are 4 times more likely to get the death penalty in capital cases... I think the judge should have allowed the testimony from voice recognition experts. It's highly reliable. Those who have done the analysis have said the voice screaming is not George Zimmerman. I don't believe it is either. I have listened to it several times myself and it sure sounds like a 17 year old screaming to me. I think GZ tried to detain TM at gunpoint. I think TM began screaming for help when he saw the gun, a very minor scuffle ensued in which TM attempted to defend himself and may have landed on top briefly (or even more likely GZ's neighbor John simply lied about that). I think TM screamed continuously until he was shot.

All George Zimmerman has done is lie. He says he was jumped on his way back to his vehicle. I don't believe that. He indicated that he had no intention of following police instructions by telling the dispatcher that police should call him when they arrived so he could tell them where he was at. If he had intended to return to his vehicle, he would have indicated that.

It is so obvious that this kid was murdered and that the incident is entirely Zimmerman's fault. If he walks away from this any faith I had left in the justice system will be gone. I mean, what does it say when someone wanting to play cop provokes a confrontation with an unarmed boy and ends up shooting him goes free? To me it means no black kid is safe.

The judge certainly should have allowed the testimony of "expert witnesses" if she was going to allow all of Zimmerman's friends to testify that that they thought the voice was Zimmerman's... What a joke of a trial...
