Looks like the surgeon wants to go with the lumpectomy and radiation. They won't know if the lymph glands are affected yet but she (the doc) thinks it was caught early enough from what she can see. Right now she is calling it stage 1 barring any lymph involvement, Looking and hoping that she is 100% correct and it is fixable. So far from what I am hearing it is the case.

Just got a call from one of the NFL coaches, very good friend. We started that autism foundation together. His wife just had her ovaries out (cancer) got it early. They call me their older brother ... ya know when it rains it pours .. didn't want to tell me before hand so I would worry more.

Not what I had hoped to hear, it is fixable but now it will be the chemo and the surgery and all the rest of the stuff ... Docs said it will be ok, just in for a bumpy ride for sure. She holds up like a rock, I am the one that has to step outside to lose it ...

For that matter, Dan, you are only one of the Mudcatters I think of this way. I'm actually kind of offended by the idea of putting a BS label on anything involving you or Art Thieme or Big Mick or Kat or Catspaw (really? yup). For that matter, no Mudcatter's life and health is BS. Wish it were better news but it is still pretty positive. I know that doesn't help, but then again, what does? Just pull up your socks and step forward. Personally I don't wear socks ............. don't wear underwear either but let's not get into that here. I'm not sure where we want to get into that but I'm pretty sure it isn't here. We could talk about the sock issue I suppose............no, that's not too good an idea either. Let's just have you get some really long socks, pull 'em up, and get your ass in a positive mood and ready to go into the fray!

If your ass is going into the fray maybe you need some new underwear as well. Why not get some black knee socks or better yet get some sock garters!!! Then get some plaid boxers.....really big ones! Now pull them up so the front comes up over your belly and the back barely covers your butt. Then with your socks and garters in place put on some hard sole black dress shoes and the rattiest robe you can find at Frieda's fifth hand shop.

If laughter is the best medicine, Linda can probably cut the chemo in half after checking out your new loungewear. Ya' know one of my fears here is that you'll really get into the look.......................yeah......................maybe you should just pull up the socks you have...................

The surgery is next Thursday. Then they will know the full extent. When the doc was rattling off terms I walk up to her and said young lady all I need to hear is you can fix this because nothing else is acceptable to me ... NOTHING else... she said yes I can and she will be fine .. so that I hold on to .. Last year the mammogram was fine .. fine this year look what we have ... My God

I read somewhere of those lasses who've shaved their hair off completely, or almost all off, before treatment even starts, to avoid their hair falling out in clumps.

They felt much better doing it that way, more in control....and they discovered bandanas, gypsy scarves twirled around their heads, great eye make up..sparkling eyeshadows, sexy kohl, big beautiful
earrings that dangle and dingle..

Others were simply happy to be bald for as long as it took..and learned to love the fluffiness of their new hair coming through...

It'll soon pass, Dan..I know that's so easy for others to say, but it will...and we're all right here with you both...(((XXX)))
