hello, Santa

nah, I can't stand the smell or taste of coffee & altho I very occasonally drink herbal tea, I haven't had a cuppa for a coupla years. When I'm thirsty I want a drink, now, not when the kettle boils.

Where I am in Sydney (about half a km from the CBD & several hundred metres from the Harbour) it does not get cold. I usually wear summer clothes in winter with a medium weight jacket. Nights can get a bit chilly here & altho I don't need a heater, I do have a lovely 80% down quilt.

when were you in Sydney (she says casually)

sandra

I wonder why the google ads below are for socks! ya can get 30 different styles of toe socks, and have your pick of a great selection of Burlington socks.

I was trying not to think about that! Horses have a horrible habit of nibbling bits! That is why most guys I know keep away from Shetland poinies ;)

Now the ads say "doing a Secret Santa?" and are offering a collection of toe socks.
What is the connection? Horse proof bras would be more appropriate surely.

The Loyal and Enlightened Fraternal and Sororical Association of Temple Worshippers has issued a Bull disapproving of horse-proof brassieres, despite their sympathy with the predicament of boob-giftees confronted with horses.

There are two reasons for this. One is that most of the brotherhood also sympathizes with the predicament of the horse, which goes through life confronted with a wide inventory of these divine gifts which are carefully wrapped and sequestered, kept from view and denied all contact with the average horse. To be surrounded by such heavenly inspiration while denied all right to reach for same is shattering tot he inherent sensitivity of the worshipper, and many of the brotherhood believe they know how horses must feel. To undergo this deprivation and tantalization on a daily basis is more than any creature blessed with an aesthetic apprecization of Golden Curves should be forced to suffer.

Additionally, horse-proof brassieres are an impediment to knowledge and divine connection, a suppressor of inspired exploration, and have a chilling effect on the study of Expanded Braille.

My Santee is Mrs Cobble,
Though it rhymes, her head don't Bobble,
But I hear that she might wobble when she tires.

I am sure twill be no trobble,
Finding gifts is not the probble,
But I've got to post them clear out to Yorkshire.

So to make sure there is no squabble,
And to make things equitabble,
I have found, I think, the very cheapest way.

On a horse that has a hobble,
Through construction zones and rubble,
But I'd better get it posted off today.

It's me, it's me, from over the sea!
Greetings unto thee, Robbie!
I will do my best
to be a pest
with holiday jive
that's hip and cool and definitely from
one crazy fool.

But bro',
ya gotta help me out.
Ya haven't left any hints as to what floats your boat.
A Leopardskin pillbox hat?
Some blue suede shoes?
The holly and the ivy?
Bald-headed Lena? Peggy Sue? Barbr'y Allen? The Maid of Coormore?

I'll keep checking the hints thread--otherwise, my choices will be at your own peril. But not to worry--we're gonna have a whole lotta fun.

I very much resent the intimation that my droppings are a bad thing. They are very useful. They can be used to fertilise, they can be used to fling at nosy humans, they can be used to show your appreciation of your local politician, and they make great seasoner for your pies. I demand an apology at once!

He was a bat and a friend always
He stuck with me in the hard old days
He never cared if I had no blood
We rambled around in the rain and flood

And here's to you, my rambling bat
May all your rambling make you fat
Here's to you, my rambling bat
May all your rambling bring you fat

In London town we chanced to stray
We thought we'd try to work one day
The boss said he had room for one
Said my old bat we'd rather bum

And here's to you, my rambling bat
May all your rambling make you fat
Here's to you, my rambling bat
May all your rambling bring you fat

Late one night in a jungle camp
The weather it was cold and damp
He got the chills and he got 'em bad
They took the only bat I had

And here's to you, my rambling bat
May all your rambling make you fat
Here's to you, my rambling bat
May all your rambling bring you fat..

So, Sarah-girl, you want a Santa?
Or, better still, a giant panda?
Now, do you think you might encounter
Another pressie from Down Under?
Well, Sarah dear, it's not to be
Although I travel over sea
To reach your chimney, and I may
Just tantalize you, day by day
I'll let my crappy rhymes unfurl
To keep you puzzled, my dear girl!

Now that secret santa's started

Once years before I lived in hope

So santa dear, though I'm old and fat

Dearest Giok,
Dry each tear
Procrastinating Santa's here!
Never too computer savvy,
Yet a helpful partner have I.
Showed your note to me just now,
And to answer showed me how!
This year, Santa will be kind,
Will not disappoint. Will mind.
Giving thought to cars (!?) and fishes (!?)
Hoping to fulfill your wishes.
