The natives are restless
The trees are rouged

From: GUEST,Tig's Mad Tannen- Bomber

Tig,

I can't tell you what WILL be in the box, but I'll tell you what i had to eliminate, for running out of room:

Anything to do with Aroma therapy has been eliminated, so Aw-ree-vi- dair-chee Aroma! That's more of a job for Scent-a-Claus anyway, and besides, there'll be plenty of good non-scents still within.

The Sea-Dee of nautical music. Since I'm at least one ocean away (Deep-ends off what direction you're coming from, actually), I can't be there to make sure you say "She-Santees sing sea shanties shamefully by the seashore" ten times fast without making a mistake before you're allowed to open it. Besides, I'm told that such harsh measures are specifically prohibited in the Geneva Conventions.

"Yes Virginia, there IS a shanty claus!"

....and don't bother typing it out, either! (I know I, for one, could probably SAY it right faster than I could type it right.)

I would send you some examples of "local color", but my spy elves Elf-Alpha and his assistants Spanky and Buckwheat tell me you have some dead leaves already. Too bad, as they were very afordable.....

They also tell me that you've cancelled your tropical vacation, so you know what THAT means--

"No tanning balm, no tanning balm......"

....and I tramped in search all through the vintage, but I couldn't remember where the wreath of grapes was stored, so maybe you'll have to wait 'til next year on that.

All the pffefers slipped their nooses, so there'll be no cookies...

All of which means you'll have to gratefully settle on the soon-to-arrive bounteous box of carefully mixed blessings from .....

The Great And Almighty.....

CLAUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (cue in spooky music)

....And maybe some Jalapena Purina to feed your firecat!

Ko-reck-shunz-

1)Should be "shanty clause" to make the least sense.

2)should be pronounced "Holla-peen-ya Pew-reen-ya" with a couple of ~~'s grafted on.

Ho, Ho, Ho

It's the bloke in the red suit again, just to warn you of an impending delivery. I've had to use a couple of seasonal workers, they mean well, but I'm not sure of their aim.. so it would be helpful if you could paint a large cross on your roof, or just flash the house lights on and off for the next few days..... oh , and wear something on your head!!!

watch the skies!!!

P.S. I have included a few greetings cards that a Mudcat friend of mine would like sent from Alaska to places in Britain (I never go near the place myself since they started charging me for entering 'congestion zones' and clamping the sleigh , always get a helper to do it), it's for something called 'a wheeze' or a 'wind-up', and have included a little something extra for your inconvenience . -well, must fly... got to collect my boots from the menders

It's true Children - there is a Santa!

Thank you Santa dear, I'm feeling more than a little 'peaky' at the moment. If, however, you give me your assurance that the package does not contain a large hand-made buffalo milk cheese or a Maine lobster (one can dream!) I promise not to open it before Yuletide.

I am allowed to shake, sniff........?

ooops! - I'm already doing that :>)

Your anticipating Santee.........

Oh wonderful Santa I wait with a mixture of anticipation and trepidation to find out what will be in my box of surprises.

However I may have to feed the Purina to Attitude, the cat who likes hot and spicey stuff as Firecat read you posting and decided that she doesn't.

Hope all your Christmas plans are trotting along nicely and that you will manage a break on Christmas Day with all the jobs done.

Lots of love and hugs

Dear Puzzled Santa:

Yes, I have been buying pressies for my Santee, and yes I have been writing pomes (one of which can be found here).

But also, I have been wrestling with my Secret Santa Sleigh -- as you know, we stand-ins often have to do with the secondhand used models, and mine went into the shop just before Halloween. I just got it back a few days ago.

But, most of all, I was foolish enough to sign up for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), and have committed myself to writing a 50,000 word novel in 30 days (Gods, help me!). Thankfully, I just broke the 40,000 word mark, tonight.

(and no, it will not turn out to be readable, but that's not the point) :-)

And a note to my Santee (whoever you are: Don't worry, I have not forgotten you!

Well my dear; I was checking you out the other day. Not bad really, but you could do something with your work clothes; maybe a whimsical pin or a little purple streak in your hair?

After careful consideration of your working practices and homelife, Santa has decided you have been...

GOOD this year, so something will be winging its way to you somehow, although, the elf is a bit poorly so it may be more like an Easter Bunny gift.

Dear Secret Santa,

I'm really sorry to hear that you have flu - must be really miserable, I do hope you feel better soon. In fact the best present I could have is for you to get well, so concentrate on that! Big friendly hug!

In terms of stuff I like, anything cuddly (if you've met Cllr you'll see the connection!), favourite colours are the autumnal ones, reds, greens & browns mostly, I love Christmas stuff (I just bought an 8 foot high Xmas tree for us so something to hang on it that would remind me of you year after year would be lovely) and I like most fluffy toys (although they have to look friendly rather than be a particular species). I drink most things, but avoid food that has artificial sweetners in cos they don't agree with me, and I don't often drink French champagne, mostly I prefer Aussie sparkling wines or Spanish cava.

I hope this helps, but as I said, the best gift I could have is knowing my Secret Santa is getting well.

Love & hugs,
Carol

PS - I think I've been good, please let me know if I have to try harder for the rest of the year!

Now, let us speed across the pond
I'll swish and flick my magic wand
And take you to a little place
Which holds its own in time and space
A tiny town called Marblehead
Could this be where I placed my bed?
Just north of Boston, on the coast
From there I raise my glass in toast
And spare a thought for yesteryear
The Salem witches lived quite near..

Pictured above: Jaze's Silent Secret Santa pauses from a long day of toymaking to pose outside his quaint, white-stucco workshop at the North Pole. Santa is dressed in his white suede summer suit trimmed with white fur and accented by white mittens and boots, as this photo was taken before the sun had set for the winter. Note that the Arctic wind has blown Santa's white hair and beard across his face, and has scattered snow across the overcast sky, making it all but impossible to see the present for Jaze that Santa is holding up for the camera.

Quiet? Moi? Perish the thought! I considered limiting myself to a lump of coal or two, but I decided that your overall marvelousity outweighed your recent deviations from the straight-and-narrow. Besides, I had to wait for Mrs. Claus to finish knitting the socks. So, having searched the wide world over, your SS pressie has now been (more or less) assembled. It should all be boxed up and in the mail in the next day or so, and on its long and tortuous way to New South Wales.

Fredale, I'm not sure what else I can say...other than that my MudName has seven different letters in it. What have I said so far:

I am about as far north as you are south, I'm barely 2/3 as far west as you are east. Hint: look at longitude and latitude numbers.

A clue you'd like. Or something better? One of your's is me. Just add a letter. Hint: look back at your clues, and it isn't one of the letters you've mentioned so far.

Maybe I should just admit it when I see you in MudChat?

Mrs Cobble, Mrs Cobble,
Lack of patience is the Probble,
You must take a breath and relax yourself awhile.
Your Secret Santa is still working,
Don't be worried that I'm shirking,
Your pressie, I am sure, will make you smile.

If a hint is what you're after,
Then I hope you find some laughter,
That will chuckle all the way down to your bones.
For the gift that I am sending,
Does not need assembly or mending,
Its a CD that is mostly all my own.

Happy Holidays,
Santa

But not Australia this time, Dear
We're off to where the llamas wander
And, in the sky, the mighty condor
Above the Titicaca's shores
His wings unfolds and proudly soars
While down below zampoñas call
Charangos out to have a ball
Now, let us see if you believe

OK - MY special l'ul Santee lives in The UK. Last year I spent a fortune on shipping charges only to have the pressies get stuck in customs. What's a US Santa to do? All you UK santas help us US Santa's out with some links to good Online stores in The UK that ship to the UK. I checked out Amazon UK and wasn't all that impressed although I did find a couple of nice pressies.

Tell me o ye UK Santas, where dost thou find totally sinful chocolates online in The UK?

Where dost thou also-eth find good prices on spirits, wine etc.?

How about seasonal plants/flowers/wreaths?

where elseth dost thou find other yummies such as maybe:
Gourmet goodies
Cookies/baked goods
Cheese
maybe some steaks or something
(here in the USA, that would be Omaha steaks -yum)

while you UK Santas are at it, link me up with anything else ya think I need to look at.

Thank you in advance

American Santa

Dear SS, I am grinning like the "Cheshire" cat, having received my bee-you-tee-full card from you. Clever, not using a postage stamp with any of the royal family on it, and the postmark was faint, but we kats have keen vision, as well as smell and whiskers...so Chesire it is! Unless of course, you have friends in Chesire places who help out in fooling!

Anyway, you have made me very *Happy*!!! I think you may be, too!

My Santa's disappeared. Not a peep have I heard since October 8, so I'd like to take this opportunity to say "I've been good, honest!" I've not scratched or burnt anybody!
